I don't think she should be overtly expressive/emotional. My favorite version is Oshii version and Johansson is too expressive with all her trademark smirks. Cold, detached, bossy, impulsive. And she should be contrasted by her colleagues. That's what I want to see and I can't see it so far.
i dont understand that smirk at the end of the gif. how does this fit with the character that the trailer presents?

beacause this is what Johansson does....in all movies.

Haha, I noticed that too. She does that in all of her movies. :funny: :funny:

That was my only nitpick... Why is the Major smirking at her own line like a cheesy action flick? :hehe:

Blade Runner would be proud

This going to be creepy. No Thermooptic suit(just the under body and a sculpted face

IKR?

Plus Black Widow stance. I like Black Widow, but I don't want Black Widow instead of Major.

Damn, Kuze is probably the most intriguing part of the movie for me. Having man crush for Michael Pitt helps too.

Well, hopefully if this is successful it will mean more anime's being made into life action.

As a kid used to love Guyver, Devil Man, Fist Of The North Star and Patlabor

Well, Cowboy Bebop and Akira are biggest contenders for adaptation. Stuff like Neon Genesis Evangelion or Devil Man won't be adapted because of hard R coupled with large budget requirement. I personally want Bubblegum Crisis and Gunsmith Cats to be turned into movies. Girl power stuff raises it's head and these are good fit.

I hope they explain why she wears lipstick. Yes i went there :woot:

I want Trigun with Cowboy Bebop and Akira. I think after Battle Angel Alita comes out and does well, Trigun could certainly be likely on Hollywood's list. Or smaller title like Desert Punk.

I do want to see Neon Genesis Evangelion on big screen. Pacific Rim did show you could make great Neon Genesis Evangelion movie. Instead Devil Men I would go Berserk as another interesting concept. But again hard rated R is must. From other titles, Fullmetal Alchemist comes in mind where you could go, or Attack on Titan if you want to go full blockbuster.

All those titles happening somewhere else and they arent connected to japanese culture or characters are japanese (beside mikasa in AoT). Casting wouldnt be problem, characters are good and deep, storyline also and all have potential to be great movies.

Cowboy Bebop

Vampire Hunter D

I want it on the big screen! Eh, Akira never did much for me.

Even among the better actors, when they are too prolific one ends up getting fed up with certain repetitive quirks. Pacino and DeNiro have very distintive mugging that they always reuse and often takes me out of their performances.

Northern Star also has a live action movie. Japan made a live action of Devil Man, I think.
