Super Bowl Spot is out! AND it looks like they sampled music from the original!

Man, these visuals are incredible. Rupert Sanders knows perfectly where to blend practical with CG.

Whoa! They improved those visuals dramatically. It looks super awesome!

By the way, the jump shot is different and look MUCH better than in the first trailer. I love it.

It's Rupert Sanders, I expect good visuals from him. It's the story/script that is the big question mark right now.

I feel only dread at this point regarding story/plot. But hey... I was surprised in the past.

open all images in new tab and see the difference

Since the shadow under the coat looks different i guess her body is 100% CGI :)

Why not spend more money. i guess changing the environment made a ''narative'' difference right?

The first shot only ScarJo's face is real. The jump - full CGI double. Hair is totally CGI.

I remember the claim how they wanted to minimize the use of CGI and go as practical as possible. lol, it shows.

Meh. First trailers for big CGI films never have the finished look.

finished? something is not finished when there is no shadow or reflection and they add it later. they re-rendered those scenes . And we ask why budgets are so big. because the studio or director change their mind. why?

Still not finished though. Doesn't change my original post.

Reminds me of what Marvel did with Black Panther in Civil War. Despite having performers in full practical suits (which I thought looked awesome as-is), they still opted to completely paint over with CGI in the end.

I get that there are some effects that can only be done digitally (i.e. lighting and iridescence on the thermoptic camo), but complete do-overs feel like such a waste. I'm sure a performance-capture suit is way more comfortable than a practical one.

I have no idea how this movie will do

If it's good it will make tons of money. Scar Jo and good critics reception is for sure giving you solid opening on domestic box office and just good action movie at international box office will make it profitable. I expect movie to make more than Lucy. Maybe just over 500M.

I like how they added some muscle tone to her form and made it look less like a suit and more like her body.

One interesting aspect is the addition to her hair, making it look more like the anime character's hair. It only appears so far in the "falling" scene in the new trailer, though the "Making of a Cyborg" or "Shelling" sequence shown in Japan also seemed to show Scarlett with hair more like her animated counterpart.

The uncloaking from stealth looks a million times better now. In the first trailer it looked rather mediocre but now it looks fantastic.

But I've just noticed it's written by a Transformers writter and directed by Snow White and the Huntsman director... Hope they'll pleasantly surprise with this one. :woot:

Well, it was initially, but it was rewritten by the scriptwriter for Straight Outta Compton, which got pretty positive reviews, which gives me a little more confidence about the quality of the script.

Looking forward to this. Visually it will be worth it. Storywise, it is impossible to tell yet.

There have been reports that the promotional standee that's been gracing movie theatres lists Ehren Kruger (of Transformers 4 infamy) as a writer, without mention of Jonathan Herman.

Wait for the reviews, I guess.

Yeah. Kruger and that Street Kings writer are credited.

Well that's creepy. Is that supposed to be Kuze? Because I hope that they're not turning him into a full-on villain (which he really wasn't in the anime).
