Not sure if I should get this or the Crew. How do the 2 compare? Which one is which style of racer? Maybe I'll just get both haha
Driveclub is kind of a middle ground between sim and arcade racing, and you race on tracks. The Crew is an open world arcade racer and has been described as a "CarPG" (Car-RPG).
agreed. and I have to wonder if it's gonna actually slow down the Ps4's sales or at least have the xbone outsell it one month. it did manage to outsell the xbone last week.whats happened with DriveClub is downright embarrassing for Evolution and Sony. This is especially bad considering this is their ONLY PS4 first party exclusive for the fall holiday season. A mess. I actually think this one game could be what kills Evolution
I think ISS's gameplay was pretty solid it's just that the city it took place in was not alive like the likes of GTA, nor was the campaign worth the $60 (at least make it longer)Actually I think Sony has been embarrassing themselves since they launched PS4. They have had hardly any great exclusives they are just making pretty looking games. Infamous and Killzone were both nice looking but the gameplay or story didn't wow me. The only game worth getting is a game thats been ported over from last gen. PS4s are selling, yes... but their 1st party software is lacking. I have my doubts about Bloodborne and The Order as well and feel that they will be games that look great but thats just about it.

also, others may also consider LBP3 to be an exclusive even though it's not.
why do you find the need to say "first party?" it is their only exclusive period
bc it will be years before GT will hit the PS4. DC was supposed to fill that void until it makes its way.Personally I don't get why this game even exists. With the Gran Turismo series, I always felt like there was kind of no need for a game like DriveClub. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony shut down Evolution Studios after this game. It's a shame, but I just don't see the need for Sony even operating this studio when there is just no need for it.
But it hasn't even been a year since Gran Turismo 6. Having a Gran Turismo on the PlayStation 4 when it's still been a short time since the last one doesn't make the urgency for a new one that big of a deal. As long as the new Gran Turismo comes out in late 2015/early 2016, which is looking most likely, there really no need at all for DriveClub.bc it will be years before GT will hit the PS4. I'm surprised that Sony bought them to begin with.Yeah I definitely see this game killing Evolution. I personally was never big on the Motorstorm games so I wont miss them.

They want it to be but that doesn't mean that it will happen. Many developers aim for unrealistic goals and end up pushing their titles far past their initial window. If you think its coming in a year then more power to you but given their track record and the meticulous amount of detail they put into their games, and the fact that they are working on new hardware, Id bet money on GT not happening till at least a year past that. Late 2016 is optimistic but 2017 is a lot more realisticPolyphony has confirmed that Gran Turismo 7 will be a late 2015/early 2016 title.
Message from Shuhei Yoshida - President of World Wide Studios
Hi everyone,
I wanted to provide you with the latest update on DRIVECLUB. Unfortunately, the road to launch has been a little rocky, and we are truly sorry that so many of you have not been able to enjoy everything that we had hoped DRIVECLUB would deliver.
We have been listening to your feedback and realize that patience understandably is running out. Evo is working around the clock to close the gap, and we have deployed additional engineering resources to help resolve the remaining issues as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the time frames required to roll out the fully connected experience will be longer than anticipated and we do not have an exact time frame for when they will be resolved. We will continue to update you on progress and you can find the latest info on the DRIVECLUB Facebook page.
We are also very conscious that we have disappointed so many of you who were looking forward to playing the promised PS Plus Edition. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.
On behalf of WWS we are enormously grateful for your patience and we thank you for the continued support and encouragement. Again, we sincerely apologize for the delay. We are committed to giving you the best racing experience on PS4 – it’s taking a little longer than we hoped.
Thanks,
Shu
