I had the pleasure yesterday.

I've had to do this with several employers through out the years as well with the apprenticeship program I'm in. This one was the most inconvenient of all,I'll spare the details. :csad: :cmad:
Has anyone else had to give up their right to privacy via drug testing? Am I the only sucker experiencing this joy?

The last one I took I failed due to a poppy seed bagel I had the day before. That all worked out.

I haven't but it would be interesting to see what they would find. I take a daily prescription but I also eat bagels and a lot of whole grain breads. The Whey powder I used to take when I was into heavy weight training may have had something in it ...

Sorry to hear that T. I haven't had to do that. That would suck.

If you only knew the conditions they wanted me to supply the sample. :down
I threw a fit. :cmad: I was already cranky when I came in.

I've done it before... the last time I did it had traces the usage of Ritalin back when I was a kid.

those things are pretty strong.

What kind of visuals did you get after the "muffin"?
Come on, who would actually eat a POPPY SEED muffin right before a drug test?

Nasty. So sad. The worst is that at one Job where we used heavy equipment and lots of machinery two guys would go out at lunch and toke up in their car and there was nothing we could do.

Nice to know that the guy you are working with, who is controlling the mechanical knife that can take both your hands off in a second is higher than shaggy ...

Scooby Doooby DOOOO!! whack ... AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Dude what's the problem?>

You cut my hands offfff ..... AHHHHHHHHH

Far out man ... that is wild ...

You don't saaaayyyyyy AAAAHHHHHH!!

I had no idea I was going to be taking a drug test. I got a new job assignment at the hall in the morning and went to get breakfast. What can I say,it never crossed my mind about a drug test. The company I'm with now didn't require it,but the job I'm on does. I could've ****ed myself if I decided to light up after my initial new job hire orientation.

We did and management did nothing.

The cops wouldn't do anything either as we did not have "evidence" and they told us that because they were parked on private property they had no "jurisdication".

The worst part is I used to get rides from the one guy, and Thank God (higher power, fate, whatever you wish) I didn't this one day. I got a ride from another friend.

We are driving behind the guy and he gets into an accident, t-bones a van that flips and pins the driver.

I jump out to do first-aid CPR and the guy is trapped under the post that goes from the dash to the roof. His neck was broken and his head crushed ... blood everywhere. Needless to say that was a bad day.

The worst; I helped my co-worker who was walking around in shock, but not in pain (wonder why?) and I got him to sit down and got his wallet and stuff. When we talked about it later he says ... "Yeah man ... and some a**hole was pushing me around and telling me what to do."

Good times. Good times.

I've had to take them in HS for Sports and one past job. Never really bothered me that much.

They're talking about bringing in drug tests for my college. I get accused of being drunk a lot anyways because my breath always smells like keytones [or whatever the hell they're called] so I don't know what the hell would come up in a drug test. Mass sugar high perhaps.

High ketones level reminds me of something I heard once ... but I can't remember what. D'oh ... losing my mind.

Will try to remember but it was something common ... Sorry K.

Diabetes? Yeah. I'm heading for it, slowly but surely.

I think that was it! It sounds funny but drinking a lot of water can help as sometimes you eat for water not for sugar. Sounds crazy but that was something I found helped me.

I am one of the few in my family who have not had Diabetes ... but I do drink 6 to 8 bottles of water a day and drink some juice in the morning. I find not eating sugars at night helps too.

I'm working on that at the moment- learning to drink more is tough. We pretty much live on rice, kelp and fish anyways so thats not such a problem, but I can never seem to balence. One day I'll eat something and be fine, next it sends me into a crash. Until I stabalise though, they apparently can't do anything. No cake and cookies is driving me a little nutso.

Perhaps more excersise will give me more of an appatite... We cut out sugar when I started going screwy. Then we cut out gluten when my wife got diagnosed. Then we cut out lactose when it started giving me trouble. We're running out of things I can eat.

Lentils and beans? They have a lot of protein.
Tuna and salsa in a wrap? Not sure if there is glutein in the wrap though ...

That sucks. I have some books at home I can check if you want that have some ideas on that though. I bought one for my wife when here levels were a little screwy ...

i havent had an employer yet. i never really get the ones that do besides like governmenty stuff or maybe if you are a driver -- or i guess dealing with kids.

We got a mountain of books and ideas from my grandmother, but thanks for the offer!

We get through a whole lot of beans and mushrooms, which are pretty good for the protein. Peanuts too, although I have to be careful to get the ones that aren't salty. Egg fried rice has been a saviour too. If we are what we eat, I'm about 90% tuna, eggs and rice.

If they start testing for alcohol and tobacco, then I won't take a drug test

True enough ... I'd be tuna, pb and j's and pasta.

Chili night is my fav.

Oh man... pasta. I remember that... near enough half a pound of grated cheese on the top... melted butter at the bottom of the bowl... damn. I miss real butter. I miss cheese.

I make a real mean chilli. Usually, its more veg than meat, since we can't afford the meat.

I'd always agree to do one if they asked, but they never did.
