Drug Testing for Employment

The last one I took I failed due to a poppy seed bagel I had the day before. That all worked out.

The poppy seed strikes again, Ms. Benes.

They offered to let it slide and send me back down to the hall or be retested. I said to retest. It took about a week and a half for the dude retesting the sample to get back to me.
Poppy are the only bagels I really like,I can't resisit. ;)

I've had to take a drug test for two previous jobs. Didn't really mind, knew before I applied they'd have me take a drug test, so I made sure to stop doing anything that would screw up a drug test.

^You have to be careful with that though, as they can choose to do another random drug test if they choose to do so. The one I recently started working with said the drug test needed to be completed in 24 hours or it's not valid. So if you've been shooting something up or smoking something, you're ****ed unless you can pay someone to pee for you.

Twice, but it did not matter. I don't mess with drugs anyway.

nope. i haven't had the misfortune of my pee being tested.
although i DID have the pleasure of peeing for quite a few of my friends throughout high school and the years following due to probation officers.
but now they've gotten more strict and actually watch you pee, so i'm out of the business now.

They did some drug tests at my school, and some guy paid his girlfriend to pee for him. Only problem with that? They sent him back a letter congradulating him on his pregnancy.

they did kinda the same thing at our school.
you could voluntarily go down and get tested for STD's but there was a big deal made about it because one of the kids ended up testing positive for HIV and then somehow people found out about it and he was so mortified that he switched schools.

Wow. They were only testing us because someone got caught with about a millionth of an ounce of green on him.

see, that's the messed up part.
it was completely voluntary.
so you didn't have to go down and get tested.
after all that happened though with people finding out they discontinued it.
all together it lasted less than a month.
personally i think they should continue it!
if they're going to test for hearing and vision at schools, why the hell not test for aids and syphillus and so on!?

They test vision and hearing? Wow. They never did at any of the schools I went to. We never had STI tests either. Thats why I never did anyone from school. *shudder*

woah! are you serious!?!
they never tested your hearing and vision!?!
never with the headphones and "raise your hand when you hear the beep" exam!!?

Nope. None of that. Government funding for schools got cut right back a year or so after I started. My teacher however noticed that I was mostly deaf and recomended that my parents get me tested. The result? One speech disorder and a whole lot of operation later, I still struggle with the noise. I kinda wish they'd left me with just 20% in both ears.

wow. that's terrible!
what was the condition?
was it due to an accident?
tubes in the ears when you were a baby?

They don't know why- they think I came out with it. Either way, I had to have my sinuses and tear ducts drained and reconstructed and a whole load of stuff done to my ears. They think it may have been a problem with my delivery- I got my head crushed along the way or something. It was a very long labour- something like 39 hours all told, most of that with me refusing to get out.

i understand.
it's because it's so warm and gooey in there, who would WANT to come out!?:o

My father got barred from the hospital for assulting the doctor who told my mother that if she stopped screaming and got on with it, it'd all be over much quicker. I don't think it helped that my grandmother was head midwife at the time. Hiding from her is like a hobby.

Yeah, I've heard of this. Presumably, it's something that only happens in the land of the "free" and the home of the slave judging by all the talk of Ritalin and poppy seed bagels.
If my employer asked me for a drugs test I'd tell him where to stick his job and no mistake. It's an infringment on one's civil liberties.
Mind you, that's easy for me to say; I live on government benefits and have a crippling addiction to heroin.

The anti-government radicals are usually high on something. Not saying it's wrong, but just saying.

I never had to personally take a drug test but I did piss in a Tylenol bottle for my Uncle who was a big druggie one time when he was trying to get a job at a construction site. Luckily enough he passed but he never would have without me.
