Dubstep?

Does Skrillex count as Dub-Step? Many write him off, but I think he's pretty amazing. Celldweller's dub-step stuff is pretty good, He recently got a pedal for his guitar that sounds very dubstep-y. Curious to see what he does with it.

And Korn's new dubstep album is pretty great. Aside from that, I haven't heard any other artists that do dubstep I like. The rest sounds bland.

So, after hearing some of this stuff, I can say... it sounds like most other generic electronic pop music. Maybe slowed down a bit. But, still sounds pretty generic.

I think it's ok. I like the dancing some people do to is...

This made me laugh at the idea of Nolan using Dubstep...

dubstep made a hardcore metalhead discover the world of electronic music and all of its genres, so yeah i think its cool.

Me too bud. :woot:

That video of the dude dancin to dubstep is pretty awesome. As well as the Inception dubstep. :awesome:

This Dubstep stuff is great. I used to have to pay good money for regrettable-looking woman to s*** in my ears.

Love Skrillex, but still salty that he canceled his spring show in Philly that I was going to go to earlier this year :csad: Do you like Excision and Datsik? Those are some other favorites of mine.

I've been listening to dubstep for years, so it's interesting to see how popular it's gotten. Not a fan of how some pop songs try to integrate attempts at it, but on the other hand, there are some really good dubstep remixes of popular songs out there, too.

Also not a fan of how everyone thinks they can make good dubstep music nowadays, but there are definitely some good artists out there.

Not that much of a fan, sadly. I guess I just don't "get it". :(

Excision and Datsik's work on Korn's new album are definitely the best on the album (aside from Skrillex)

BTW, Skrillex new EP "Bangarang'" dropped today, go check it out if you haven't. :woot:

I agree, I've found so many terrible dubstep songs on YT. I can see why people wouldn't like it if they listened to some of the newbs that do it. (Not that all newbs are terrible.)

I like some of it. It hasn't found a place on my regular playlist, yet.

I'd describe it as sounding like Transformers having sex.
But, there is some dubstep I enjoy, and I've heard some pretty decent remixes, so I'm partial to it.

Every few years a genre comes along that's basically electronic labeled something else. Used to be techno, then electronica, then house, and so on. I like what Skrillex does, but I ain't like a huge fan of the dubstep thing.

Well, each one of those types of electronic music have different attributes just like pop, R&B, rap, and rock do. If you listen to a lot of it you can tell the difference between the different types just like with any other genres. It isn't just a label.

Dubstep hits down to the core when you're tipsy. Other than that, it's only alright for me if it's in small amounts.

I like Dubstep to an extent, but I'm more into Drum 'n Bass and Electronica, especially guys like Pendulum, Celldweller, Blue Stahli and Prodigy.

EDIT: I almost forgot about this one. It discovered some time ago in an AMV that I watched, and I've become addicted to it.
