DVD/Box Set Discussion

I was going to do something today, but I can't remember what.

;)
Tell me about it! I went to THREE freakin' stores before I finally got one. Jeeze.

First store didn't receive their shipment. Say what? Yeah, the attendant dude said "they're usually slow." Who's usually slow? I have no clue. But Tower Records in Burlington MA won't have the discs till Thursday. Pfft. LATER! [channels Dawn Stiles]

Second store was sold out. Crap! You gotta be bleepin' kidding me? Nope. Sold out. Crikey!

Third store, SUCCESS! Long live Newbury Comics. :D

I can't wait till tonight. :)

Has the season 5 dvd only just come out in the US then? Its been out a week or so over here which is weird because we usually wait quite a few months to get it.

For some odd reason, the SV DVDs come out earlier in England than they do in the US. I have no explanation for this, but yeah, it streeted here today.

First time I remember that happening, definately for Smallville because when i used to buy the SV dvds it was an annoying wait.

I'm pretty sure it was out early last year too. Not positive about the prior year, however. James would know; he keeps track of that stuff and he's got a better memory than I.

Was just checking on the amazon sites but because of the update they did they no longer say when dvds were released

EDIT:

Right according to Sendit.com Season 4 was released on 10th Oct 2005 in the UK

All I'll say is this:

That image of Lex - the one when you just open up the set - the one of him looking out over the devestation from the LexCorp building - that's badass.

Well I picked mine up at BestBuy and got the bonus 100th episode disc. Fabulous documentary, went for at least an hour, my only disappointment with it was that the only time we saw Tom Welling was when he was in front of the camera shooting a scene. :csad:

We saw Allison Mack the most, a little bit of KK and a tiny bit of Erica Durance. Saw a rehearsal scene between JG and JS, which was really good. Saw MR having his makeup put on. There was alot of John Schneider, which was really nice but there was no Annette O'Toole or Tom Welling.

Those two owned that episode, I dont get it.

That's the only thing that makes the new design worth it.

I hate when they change packaging this far into a release. It's not that much more narrow, which I can only assume is one reason for the change. I guess they didn't want to spend money on the single disc plastic molds.

The cover image on the inside book is beautiful.

As much as I dont like the discs laying on top of each other, the book like set up they had with the previous sets, always breaks.

I would consider re-buying the sets if they re did them all like that.

I'm in that group too, none of the box sets have broken for me. Not yet, anyways.

Well you two must be special, because all of mine have broken. :whatever:

some of the deleted scenes shouldn't ve been deleted .

RECKONING - that was a very powerful scene that should've stay in the show .

I agree Kal, and the Lexana scene from Tomb should have stayed in.

I must say I did love all the Lois/Martha scenes. Over the top with the anvils, but they were nice even if they werent really needed for the episodes, so it was probably a good choice not to include those.

I loved The Lois & Clark bantering in "Fanatic" & "Hypnotic"

The Lois & Martha scene in "Vessel" was a good forshadowing of The mother/Daughter relationship they will continue to have in the future .

It'll be awhile till I can pick it up don't have the cash right now. :(

Yet again, Walmart proves they're idiots....

Rated R?

I know Walmart can be a bit anal about what they release and the labels they put on what they do, but I think in this case they're just going off the info given to them.

I like ordering DVDs from DeepDiscount.COM

I got mine from BestBuy because I wanted to extra bonus.

Here's a deep dark fangirl confession : When I'm in a big store like, where the have all "feature items" on tables, I usually wil put a SV set on the the table as weel.:)
I do the same with the SV magazines.. I make sure they are in the front.

At least tell me there is a booklet in the set, being slimmer is bad enough.
