DVD/Box Set Discussion

Maybe it's for another feature on the set, and not a specific episode commentary.

I hope they at least asked Marv Wolfman, he really enjoyed the Justice episode.

I think that may be commentary for Arrow not Justice, or maybe Smith and Meltzer will do Arrow and O'Neill will do Justice?

I dunno. I just think Smith is one helluva funny bastard. When I bought the DVD, An Evening w/ KS, I figured I'd just watch about a half hour of it and come back to it the next day. Nope. Sat there with my husband, laughing our freakin' asses off through BOTH discs. Didn't get much done that night, but I did gain quite an appreciation for Smith's "stand-up" routine and directness. Prior to that, I only knew him through his films. He's entertaining w/o being condescending, and he talks about the kind of things I'm interested in. So... yeah... having him comment about *anything* SV related will be quite a treat for me. :D

They shot a good deal of that at Clark University in my old town of Worcester.

Is Smith a fan of the show? I saw a bootleg vid on Youtube of Smith at last year's Comic Con and he just killed that crowd of geeks, so great.

If they're doing these DC-people commentaries, Alex Ross would be a perfect choice at some point. Maybe for one of the final episodes.

I hope they're on board for an "Arrow" commentary as well as "Justice."
Winick is currently on GA, and Meltzer & Smith were responisble for GA's ressurection a few years back. Denny O'Neil's run on Arrow was classic.

I bet there'll be a featurette dedicated to Green Arrow (like S4's Lois retrospective), and they'll probably be involved as well. I hope this time 'round, we get a bunch of eppies w/ commentary... including the cast!
 
I've seen An Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder and its some of the funniest **** I've ever seen, especially since Jason Mewes joins him at times.

I've also listened to his commentaies on his movies and their always gold. its a shame that Affleck isn't with him, the back and forth between those to is classic.

oh yeah. He was actually going to have a cameo appearance in "Arrow" I think, but he couldnt clear his schedule.
 
The first 4 seasons of Smallville on DVD were much better than the last two box sets. Not in terms of episodes but the box sets themselves. With the last two box sets you don't get the leaflets, but instead they are on the DVD cases themselves, which I don't like too much. Also The first four seasons had waaaaaaaaaaaay better title intros leading into the DVD menu. Now the menu just pops up with a picture of Clark, no more moving images. I've also noticed how Welling is never does interviews much at all on the DVD special features which sucks:cmad:

I didnt reply, because the first thing he had a beef with, the leaflets, isnt true. I got leaflets with both my Season 5 & 6 DVD set.

I got a leaflet with my Season 5 DVD, and I'll probably get one with my Season 6 DVD.

What I DO hate, however, is not getting commentaries with Tom, Michael, or anyone else I actually care listening to.

Lack of commentaries with the good cast members is a downer.
The Green Arrow documentary is pretty good though.

I live in Ireland, so I got them here in HMV(dvd+music store).
The episodes descriptions are on the DVD boxes themselves, which is why I prefer the layout of the older box sets.

LOL The "good" cast members being Tom & Michael? Yeah, well, can't argue with that. But that's less Warner Home Video's doing than it is the actor's decision, me thinks.

I live in Ireland, so I got them here in HMV(dvd+music store).
The episodes descriptions are on the DVD boxes themselves, which is why I prefer the layout of the older box sets.

Ah, that explains it. The R2 packaging was obviously different. That doesn't justify it, but I understand now.

Cmill, can we merge this thread with the existing DVD thread? There are similar complaints there. I vaguely remember the lack of booklets in the foreign release packaging being discussed along with suggested solutions to the problem. Scroll back a bit, LW. All is not lost. :)

There was a slot for the leaflet in my Season 6 DVD set, but it was missing. And I really doubt the store will take it back... :( :mad:

That's a bummer. :down: Contact Warners or whoever the distributor is and ask them to send you one. I'm sure they will. :yay:
