The trailer showed some guy playing Super Mario Mii on a tv, then he switched to playing it on the controller when his bud wanted to watch baseball.

So you still need the Wii-U to play? Its basically just streaming the game to the controller, not the controller actually playing the game? That makes more sense.

Yup, Reggie just confirmed that it has to talk to the console, so you can't go wandering around the house playing.
