The Dark Knight Rises Easter Eggs in DKR

LOL ya i dont think the plant means anything. Just showing that it's a dead winter, with no life to it. Or not even that. Did it even make it on screen??

Teh Epic! Teh Nod!

And what if Gordon's mustach is actually a nod to The Joker, as we all know Cesar Romero used to play the joker without shaving his mustach?

Batman sacrificing himself was also a nod to the avengers ending; proving DC is planning a marvel crossover!

Not sure where to post this but I guess it fits here. I just read that there a cafe/restaurant named Alfredo Sull'Arno and it fits the description (location - "on the banks of the Arno") that Alfred gave of the cafe that he goes to.

It wasn't the same exact light.

Bruce had a flashlight, Blake had some kind of glowstick or blacklight or something like it.

Edit: I think I have it the other way around. Blake had the flashlight.
Well, i posted evidence showing they were the same in both films, but I didn't realize you couldn't post bootleg stuff. Either way, the flashlights are the same.

I once read an article comparing tdk with batman 89 and the similarities between the two.

For example both films feature the genesis and death of a major batman villain the joker and two face respectively. They both are the only medium in which jokers makeup isn't permawhite etc. I didn't notice anything like that in this film but did anyone else get a batman returns vibe from the stock exchange escape? Hoppin the barricades on the motorcycles immediately brought to mind the beginning of batman returns for me.

also, the dance scene with Selina is reminescent of BR without being a rehash.

Joker is permawhite in Batman 89.

There's a number of parallels actually between Batman Returns and The Dark Knight Rises:

- Both feature a villain in the sewers / tunnels who rises up and takes over Gotham's government
- Both feature Catwoman
- Both feature a dance at a masquerade party
- Both feature snow / ice
- In both, the villain takes control of Batman's arsenal (Penguin remote controlling the Batmobile, Bane stealing the Tumblers)

Fat.

That's...probably more casual and touristy than the Nolans had intended. :funny: I might have even been there!

Oh, another thing (since I'm taking art history and all), Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance, i.e. "rebirth." So it's like Bruce Wayne is being reborn into a new life, etc. :oldrazz:

People *cough*beastmode*cough* claiming Hardy was too short and not muscular and chubby to play Bane before the film came out. For the record, I don't think that.
He's comparing Tom Hardy to Danny DeVito as another Returns parallel.
Bingo

Heh, pretty cool kvz5.

Yeah, that talk pretty much disappeared once the movie came out. Just how people foolishly doubted Anne could play Selina. Going from one of their biggest 'concerns' of the movie, to most people's standout performer.

I always had faith. Nolan chooses great actors for his movies, no doubts were in my mind.

The debate about Bane's size was no different to the permawhite debate surrounding Joker in TDK. Both turned out to be rendered moot once the movie came out.

And it'll continue. Watch when Penguin comes in.."he's not going to be short or chubby enough!"
