Eddie Murphy in Space...AGAIN?!

Do you remember this movie? Because I don't.

Anyway, "Meet Dave" looks like it will flop horribly. This one looks even worse than "The Love Guru", and if that one flopped then this one doesn't have a shot in hell.

Mayne dat movie was funny as hell. Dat was his last funny movie. classic comedy in my book.

Co-sign! I say the same thing to my friends all the time. That was classic Eddie in his prime in that film.

Ok, I'm 100% sure that I'm the only one here that's seen Meet Dave.

I give it a 5.5/10

I was surprised. Aside from some terrible (yes, I said it) CGI in a few places, the movie kept me entertained! It was clearly aimed at a much younger audience, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I still wouldn't recommend seeing it, but it's not the worst movie I've seen this year.

I'm sure that this film is probably ok but things seem highly competitive .meet dave doesnt really stand a chance right now .

I'm glad audiences are finally learning to stay away from crap.

Dear God.....

....that's it, game over man, game over!!....
I've lost all faith in humanity, time to get to work on that doomsday device.

BTW I just learned about "Ace Ventura 3" from the funny pics thread a few mins ago. I decided after hearing about that crap, and not being totally sure if it was a prank or real I decided for the first time to check out the misc. films section on this site. I see "Eddie Murphy in Space...Again!?!", and think that the comments would be good for a laugh. Wow, what happened Eddie, even ppl mocking this horrible movie isn't enough to get me over how bad of a movie premise this is. I'd rather see a cross inbetween Nutty professor and a vampire in brooklyn where you play 6 fat vampires farting as they drink blood from a homeless guy than see this :(.

what a flop!

$5 million opening weekend on more than 3000 theaters!

pathetic!

if this doesn't finally force murphy to do proper R Rated comedies again,
then nothing will.

Eddie, please retire now!!

this is a massive bomb. the movie cost $60 million or $100 million depending on who is telling the truth.

This is the final nail in the coffin now for Eddie.

I think its time for Eddie to go for the nostalgia route.

Beverly hills cop 4
48 Hours part 3
Trading places 2
Coming to America 2

Take your pick eddie! its time for the 80s comeback now!
Willis, Stallone, Ford, and everyone else has been cashing on the sequel craze.

Eddie might as well milk it one last time!

Has anyone seen the interview he did in the special feature on Delirious? He still has it! He could totally still do a stand up special and make me laugh! His new movies are getting worse and worse but I think stand up is the only thing that could save him from the abyss of failure. Oh, and 'Eddie Murphy in Eddie Murphy in...' sound like a gay porn title.

The thing people forget is that in these movies, there is NOTHING wrong with Eddie Murphy and his acting. He's still a comedic genius and he's very funny in Meet Dave as he was in Norbit. We cannot simply pretend that this is not Eddie Murphy here. Bad movie or not, this guy still has it.

The problem is, that the movies themselves are just plain tacky, cheap, sad, and unfunny in all other areas.

He needs to do one, solid film immediately, to remind people that he's still incredibly funny AND can do a good film too.

BTW, Meet Dave doesn't have that much to do with Space at all.

agreed,

eddie still has the talent, but his choice of movies is baffling.

he gets an oscar nomination for dreamgirls, and then does norbit, meet dave, WTF??!!!

the Eddie of the 80s and early 90s was doing much better stuff.

His last real edgy role was Metro in 1997. After that, its been endless fat suits and kiddy humour flicks.

I mean, Nutty professor 1 & 2, dr doolittle 1 & 2, daddy day care, pluto nash, meet dave,

he hasn't done 1 decent movie for more than a decade now.

Eddie should be working with someone like Scorcese, Michael Mann or someone else and doing proper movies which can showcase his immense talent.

I guess the first thing he should do is Beverly Hills cop 4, but only if its true to the original movies of part 1 and 2. Part 3 was a slapstick version by John Landis.

Maybe he needs to work with Michael Bay.

his next movie is "nowhereland", another kids movie.

guarenteed to be a flop as well!

Did you even SEE "Norbit"?

Now if only Disaster movie does this bad (hopefully worse).

I tell you, SNL is a curse. The former cast members are big for a while, then they just drop off.

Adam Sandler's managed to stick around, even though "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" sucked worse than any of his movies have sucked before.

This movie gives people with the NAME Dave a bad name :whatever:. put me down as another who wants 80s/early 90s Eddie back pronto!

There has been exceptions. Bill Murray continues to do solid work. Adam Sandler's movies still make money. The Love Guru may have flopped, but Mike Myers is still some-what relevant.

i've seen both meet dave and love guru.

meet dave is far better than love guru.
