Matt said:I bought a new PC today capable of running Oblivion. I'm thinking about trading in my 360 version for a PC version.
Benefits such as expansion packs, and the construction set are a good perk, plus I've always felt more comfortable playing my PC Morrowind as opposed to the X-Box Morrowind, so I'm guessing it'll be the same.
Too bad Oblivion's mods aren't actual mods, but merely new weapons and items.Hudson said:![]()
I love mods.
THWIP* said:ANY "EXPANSION PACKS" WILL BE RELEASED VIA 'LIVE'........JUST LIKE THE ONE I POSTED ABOUT ABOVE.
Oblivion would hardly be the first game to let you download entire levels for games. It was done on the Xbox with quite a few games, and the Xbox360 is doing it even moreso, with demos, which are usually files as big as full-sized games.Matt said:Like I said, I feel more comfortable with mouse and keyboard anyway. Besides, I'm not sure I buy the entire expansion pack on live thing. It sounds very ambitious, I'm not sure if they can pull it off. I mean, look at Blood Moon and Tribunal. Do you really think they can download them to thousands of people via Live? If anyone can do it, its Bethesda...but...it seems just a bit too ambitious and unrealistic.

THWIP* said:YES....I KNOW THEY CAN. THE THING IS, THE INDIVIDUAL QUESTS/MAPS THAT THEY CONTINUE TO MAKE, WILL BE EXTREMELY SMALL, COMPARED TO THE COMPLETE 'OBIVION' CONTENT. I DOWNLOADED BOTH OF THE NEW EXPANSIONS THE OTHER NIGHT, AND IT ONLY TOOK ABOUT 10 MINUTES TOTAL, AND THEY TOTALED LIKE 100MB BETWEEN THEM. IF THEY WANTED TO DO SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF 'THE TRIBUNAL' OR 'BLOOD MOON', IT WOULD BE SMALLER THAN MOST OF THE PLAYABLE DEMOS THAT HAVE HIT 'LIVE' SO FAR. THE 'PGR3' DEMO CLOCKED IN AT 1.25 GB.
Matt said:Well, I hope you're right for you console gamers. I'm officially switching to the realm of PC gaming. Besides, like I said, can't go wrong with mouse and key board when playing a game like Oblivion.
THWIP* said:UGH........I USE MOUSE/KEYBOARD ALL WEEK LONG AT WORK; THAT'S WHY I HATE PC GAMING.![]()
Yeah, **** the Xbox 360. PCs are better in every way, to the point of making not only the Xbox 360, but all consoles --past, present and future-- obsolete.Phaser said:Apparently now the PC version of Oblivion wipes the floor with it's 360 counterpart, especially when it comes to visuals, performance and user interface.
