I just got this game recently. I'm level 9, and I'm really enjoying it. One character of mine is a hero and i'm doing the main quest. The other one is evil and im in the thieves guild and the dark brotherhood. But i sorta feel bad for killin all these people. Anyone else find it hard? lol

Thieves Guild is, IMHO, a "good" faction.... Maybe not "good" but I don't view them as "bad" either.

ive tried that and it never works. I think its only ever worked once for me

Always works for me. Are you sure you click on the right object once you have the command console open? It's harder to be sure in Skyrim since it just shows " [ID] whereas Oblivion showed '[name] [ID]'

Not at all. I love sniping people with my bow or stalking up behind them to cut their throats.

Ulfric Stormcloak doesn't want that, he wants to rule Skyrim himself. Oh, he's also xenophobic and racist. When the Thalmor finish off a fractured Empire, what's going to stop them from doing the same to Skyrim?

How exactly do you do that? Iv snuck up behind people but when i go to attack my dude just swings normally. Is it a perk i need to unlock?

No idea. I know it only occurs with one-handed weapons. I have a high Sneak with Backstab and the 16x one for daggers (though it'd happen before I got it). I also play in 3rd person, might be more common in that than 1st person.

Hm. Yea my sneak is around 55 and my one handed is reslly high. Maybe I don't have backstab

I think it's just random. Like when you're fighting normally it sometimes does a random kill move in slow motion.

I sided with the Stormcloaks because I believe people should govern themselves and practice their freedoms.

Talos was only banned so that Skyrim wouldn't be wiped out by the Thalmor.

Here's the backstory: The empire is at war with the Altimeri Dominion (or Thalmor), which consists of the Wood Elves and High Elves. The Thalmor nations successfully ceded from the Empire and were really to unleash hell on the other Empire nations until the Empire came up with a peace agreement.

This part is very important:

The only way the Thalmor would agree to a peace agreement is if they would ban the worship of Talos, the only human god. The Thalmor only did this because they knew this would piss off the human nations, mainly Skyrim because Talos was a Nord. They knew that the Nords would be extremely pissed off at the already struggling Empire and themselves would want to cede themselves from the Empire.

It's all part of the Dominion's plan to divide and conquer. And to make all of this worse, Ulfric actually knows that the Empire did this just so they won't be taken over, and that he knows that Skyrim themselves can't handle the Thalmor, which baffles me at why he's doing all of this in the first place. My guess is ego.

Killing Ulfric is one of the most satisfying moments of the game. Especially since my first character was dumb and sided with him.

I'd rather die fighting for my rights than live in fear and under the threat of death daily. A government's goals should be more than just self-preservation. If the Dominion's ultimate goal is to obliterate mankind anyway, why compromise their way of life and culture in the meantime?

Yea, the Empire and the rest of man should just kill those stuck up High Elf ********s.

@CaramelPopcorn

Not only are the Stormcloaks short-sighted fools, but they're also grossly misguided. If they want to have their little rebellion, then they should at least make sure to rebel against the right people. The Aldmeri Dominion is the real enemy, not the Empire. In fact a united Empire is their best chance to one day destroy the Dominion and make Talos a god once more. But none of that directly benefits Ulfric, so it's off the table.

And if Ulfric became High King, he'd be putting every non-Nord in concentration camps.

Made an Argonian Assassin today... His name is "Sharp-As-Knives." I'm going to pretty much go the neutral route. I'm not siding with the Stormcloaks but I'll be
assassinating the emperor
so...

I've run into another glitch. :csad:

I'm doing the Companions guild. And I've gotten to the part where you've become a werewolf, and have to avenge the death of one of your own by killing a Silver Hand leader. Problem is the place where Aela sends me is a place I've already cleared of bandits in the past, and there is no one else there to kill. I've tried waiting a few days but no one shows up. And I can't continue the Guild quest line without finishing this one.

Attack of the Skyrim noob returns!

1.) I'm still really early in the game. But what's the best way to kill dragons by yourself? I've only killed the first one from the campaign & I've had some help from soldiers there. Everytime I try to do a mission, a dragon pops up on my path & is all like "Hey, what's up".

2.) When do you get the missions to side with the Imperials? Did you have to follow the soldier at the beginning of the game?

Sorry, that I'm a major noob. I only play on the weekends. Plus, I'm juggling this game with MW3 & UMvC3. :/

Best way to kill a Dragon is just to keep hitting it. Once you get to Solitude you can track down the General to be able to join up with the Imperials.

I may not like Ulfric, but do think the Stormcloaks are right. The Empire is executing Nords for worshipping Talos, even in secret. It would be akin to if Germany won WW2, and told the US we had to execute our Jewish citizens. I agree that it puts off being oblitterated, but there are worse things. Though I do applaud Bethseda, they did the story in a way that gets ppl talking....Martin never did that in Oblivion heh.

Granted I don't think the Stormcloaks are righteous either. They are racist/speciest idiots. However atleast they're not demanding the Empire drop all their beliefs, or to the chopping block. As for the Stormcloaks falling into the Altmer's plans...both are. Takes two sides to fight a civil war, both are accountable. The Empire for hunting Nords down, and the Stormcloaks for stirring things up. Hitting Whiterun did suck though...I liked the okd Jarl better heh. I think my second run will be as a Mage on the Empire's side though.

Also, the Blades are now officially a let down for me.
"Oh hi, remember us? We're that badass faction of Dragon hunters that helped you in Oblivion. We're almost wiped out, but still will serve you til our dying breath, you are our purpose. First however go put yourself in harms way on a wild goose chase in enemy headquarters just because I hate the Altmer, while I chill here in this Inn's panic room. What? They weren't bringing the dragon's back, and I just made you their target? Don't sweat it. But hey...I'm not going to help you anymore unless you kill that badass mentor Dragon of yours, and alienate the Greybeards who helped you waaay more than we did. Until you kill Paarthurnax...forget all that you're our purpose crap.

Here's my step by step pro strategy:

1. Wait for it to land.
2. Breath fire at it.
3. Smash it in the face until my fire breath is recharged.
4. Repeat until dead.

Hmm... I honestly don't know. I've had the Join the Imperial Legion/Stormcloaks quest in my log so long I forgot where or how I picked them up.

Uthgerd just attacked me randomly, and then equally as randomly Vignar came up behind her and impaled her on his sword. So now I have a dead Uthgerd in front of my house.

I think you have to wait like 30 days for the bandits to return.

Who has the Empire killed for worshiping Talos? The beginning the Stormcloaks are being killed for...being Stormcloaks (rebels). It's the Altmer that have the hatred for Talos worshippers. There's a shrine somewhere between Whiterun and Falkreath that has dead bodies. First time I saw it, I shortly came across Thalmor justiciars on the road.

The Empire is hunting Stormcloaks down, not all Nords. There are Nords in the Imperial Legion such as Hadvar and Rikke. Ulfric started the civil war when he killed the High King of Skyrim.
