Haha love those dlc jokes. I'm glad that they stick to single-player games.

So, been reading about the game and man...I am impressed. I wasn't too fond of Oblivion... It was fun until you had to grind Oblivion gates, then it just got boring. But this next game just looks incredible. The enviroments are also insanely beautiful.

Yeah those Oblivion gates were a *****. At first they were the perfect thing to make you **** your pants, but after the fifth gate it became tiresome to deal with them. I avoided them like the plague until I had to deal with them, then when I had no choice but to go through one I just ran instead of fighting. I hope that's gone in Skyrim.

You guys do realize when you beat the main quest the gates are gone, right?

I pretty much do everything but the main quest. The main quest is usually the last thing I tackle in an RPG because I want to explore everything and get stronger.

I made myself 100% invisible, with a bunch of items that I wore, and just ran through most of the gates like that. I tried using the 100% immune to fire ring and a water walking ring so I could walk on lava, but it didn't work.

I found the gates pretty boring, outside of the ones you were forced to play, I mostly just ran past them with the sky changing constantly, which was pretty annoying.

I agree. The sky changing bothered me. And whenever I had to go in one, I would just run past everything until I got to the Sigil Stone. (I think that's what they're called)

Overall, I did alot of gates, but I decided to just complete the main quest. I got to level 44 with my Nord Warrior as well as completed the Fighters guilds. I made a blade Mage (custom) and a Dark Elf assassin for the Mages guild, Theive guild, and Dark Brotherhood.

after a while, i was closing gates just to make the sky a normal color.

That's why I did them lol. It annoyed me when the sky changed color.

But I don't think I did all of them.

I agree guys. The Oblivion gates became annoying. I just hope the Dragon attacks won't be overkill.

I did most of the gates early on but quite after awhile. They got SOOOOO annoying. I just did them to quit the demons from respawning

I was more interested in the daedric shrines and runes and also some of the other shrine quests. You get real loot and xp out the ying yang for doing them all.

Don't get me wrong, I do too. I just hope they don't get repetitive or redundant

Yea i agree. The Dragon attacks need to feel special. I mean if you are fighting off dragons just as much as you are goblins, it wont be as stunning a sight when you do see them

I think the dev's realize this tho and are working to find that right balance.

They said there was a minimum 15 dragons, most being naturally roaming in their various territories, others being a part of the main quest. Each dragon will look different and have different magic abilities. Even after you kill most of the dragons pertinent to quests, they will continue to spawn throughout Skyrim. They did not describe the frequency of dragon encounters before during and after the main quest, or the exact number, or if you can actually ride one, but I am certain that they will be faster and more satisfying than oblivion gates. Another fun fact, not only can a dragon hunt you, but several can at the same time if you engage more than one and let them pursue you.

I wouldn't be surprised if you turn into a dragon at some point.

Nothing can be as bad as grinding those damn Oblivion gates.

The Dragon stuff sounds actually pretty interesting. I hope they have some cool scenario's for them, like defending a village or something.

I wish we can ride a dragon.

:cmad:

You sick son of a-

oh wait...

Nvm.

Well if you listen to the game informer interview with Todd Howard, he talks about all the Dragon encounters. They're designed to raze villages if one appears there. They'll set houses on fire, clamber over a buildings roof etc. It sounds really cool, and they're designed to adapt to any spontaneous situation, since a lot of them are random encounters.

I can hardly be expected to remember things that I read 2 or 3 months ago, you FOOL.

But yeah the dragon stuff has all sounded and looked really good so far. I think they'll be careful not to spam them at you.
