Elder Scrolls V

The quest line is awesome. The stealth isn't hard, really just have to crouch and not be seen. Yeah, in the last quest you have to steal an Elder Scroll and it's pretty tricky but very awesome.

If you finished the Dark Brotherhood quest, use items from that to help you sneak around.

It's not hard, I was just never interested in stealth based missions that don't require killing. In my 360 version of the game I have the skeleton key and a high sneak skill (If I remember it was around 80).

Definitely. The gates were repetitive and I found them too difficult, but I rarely leveled up. It was so annoying to have to go to the towers, work your way up, have to fight really powerful enemies, then get the stone. Plus I wanted to loot all of them for their weapons.

I really hated the quests where you had to close the gate at each city. I'm a completist and had to do all of them. I cheated and just used invisibility potions to and stealth killed everyone.

In the big battle at Bruma, both Jauffre and the black guy died. I used the console to revive them. When I talk to both, each of them talk about how the other died.

I hated the gates by the middle of the thing. I agree that the closing the gates for all the cities got really redundant. I hope they diversify the quests more.

And only Baurus died in the Battle of Bruma in my game too, even with all the armies. Jauffre died in the last quest of my game. Couldn't keep him alive.

I remember in the last quest I kept getting my ass handed to me too before I beat it.

Soapy's Strategy Guide for Oblivion Gates

Step 1: Run past everything and grab the Sigil Stone.
Step 2: There is no "Step 2". You're done.

Haha that's what I did too. I got so tired of closing Oblivion gates I started doing that.

I'm really tired of sucking. I can't even beat this dude in the Arena right now. So I've decided to cheat and gift myself loads of gold via the console. Now I just gotta find some trainers and better gear...

I usually don't like it but I enjoyed it. There's something about sneaking right in front of someone and killing them.

I knew his name was something like Boris.

Both of them died in both battles but I revived them at each. Couldn't get let them get killed.

I hope it's like Arkham Asylum with a lot of hidden easter eggs. Make each cave or parts of the sewer have some easter egg in them.

What type of character are you playing as?

Redguard, but I made my own class. I split my major skills between warrior and thief, basically. Armorer, Heavy Armor (probably should've gone light; I forgot about Bound Armor), Blade, Block, Security, Marksman, and Sneak.

I've never tried that. I would say that the heavy armor, may not be the best with a thief though lol. Though I've never tried it so I may be wrong. does it work alright?

Not at all. I have to take off my armor to sneak effectively. It'll all even out by the time I'm a master of Heavy Armor and Sneak, but that's a long time away.

More importantly, I forgot that there are like 3 or 4 different ways to permanently equip Bound Armor, which weigh nothing and count as light armor.

I played last night for a bit. One thing I hope they don't have so many ****ing hills. It's annoying trying to get from A to B when really high hills in your way. You either have to walk up, then left and right hoping you come to a section that lets you get up some more. I hope the world is smaller in general.

I think I have to get a new video card. I used to have a 1024x768 monitor but have a 1920x1080 and Oblivion is choppy under that resolution, and it looks kinda crappy on anything smaller. I'll wait until Skyrim though.

Oblivion's better than Morrowind as far as hills and mountains go, at least. I spent so much time trying to work my way up mountains in Morrowind...

I dunno, I agree that the hill thing could get irritating, but as Corp said it was better in Oblivion than Morrowind.

However I personally would like to see a "bigger" world, I would like to see more variety in the landscape. Additionally I hope the dungeons are varied, and have themes themselves, so they don't all feel the same.

*remembers the Oblivion gates*

I actually thought the "hills" weren't as annoying in Morrowind. Of course that might be my acrobatics skill was 100 and I could practically jump over them. :funny:

I never played Morrowind. Even if it was better, it still sucked in Oblivion. I don't mind hills/mountains, but at least make them climbable in most areas or create distinguishable paths for you to follow.

In Daggerfall there was actually a "climbing" skill so you could climb steep things like walls and mountains and whatnot.

I want the ability to join the Imperial Legion to return from Morrowind. I also want more cities as a I felt there were more cities and villages in Morrowind also.

Isn't GI revealing its cover featuring Skyrim today?

It would be great if they finally got around to incorporating co-op, like that co-op elder scrolls game that was being made before oblivion that got cancelled

Couldn't care less about co-op, myself. That cover is a bit disappointing. That dragon emblem is cool and all, but it would've been nice to see something from the new engine instead. Oh well, guess we gotta wait until GI mails 'em out.

When do the Game Informers start shipping out to it's subscribers?

Bah, disappointing cover. Nothing we couldn't have seen on the official website (or Oblivion's case)!

That's...unfortunate. With every other cover they have original art, but for Skyrim they just use the first thing you see on the official site? Lame.

When do the Game Informers start shipping out to it's subscribers?

Today.

When will this issue be on newstands?

Next week sometime. Depending on where you live.

I like the cover for it's simplicity. Besides, they put stuff inside the covers, too.

Cool cover, but i really want to see some pictures. Here's hoping we get some by tommorow.
