I think you're jumping the gun a bit. the producers stating that they're "exploring" a movie with a director is a far cry from anything being confirmed.

Three Kings wasn't a bad movie, but I still think an Emma movie is a mistake. She's not that popular a character, and mainstream public aren't going to know who she is.

Who should play her? In her heyday I would have said Rebecca Demornay.

i think David O Russell is a terrific writer/director, a tab quirky for an xmen movie though, because his movies that are good are I heart huckabees, Spanking the monkey, and Three Kings, all off beat comedy movies, so it is kind of a bizzare choice, but i like him as a writer director so i hope he does good

I remember watching early BSG episodes and thinking 'she had to have gotten hired for her looks alone with that body', but she's actually proving to be a very talented actress IMHO.

David O. Russell, eh? This is actually making things look up for me: he did a phenomenal job on Three Kings.

EDIT: but yeah, i still don't get why Emma's getting a movie. maybe someone wrote an amazing script or something.

I hardly consider this a confirmation . . . Regardless, perhaps FOX should stay away from any female centered superhero spin-off films in which the main character's name begins with an 'E.' They don't seem to do too well.
