The article actually says "No sequel plans, spinoff or prequel a possibility". Get ready for "The LeFou Movie", coming Spring 2019!

But seriously, it's a stupid idea. Spinoffs didn't work out so well for the animated movie and they won't for this version either.

Lefou - It'll be a PG Disney version of Moonlight.

I for one am looking forward to Disney's BEAUTY & THE BEAST: CURSE OF THE PLAGUE RATTLE.

Yeah, it's a weird article. It basically says there's no BatB follow-up in the works.

Saw this movie last night. Gorgeous to look at, Kevin Kline and Dan Stevens were the standouts. Watson did OK but was outacted by everyone else in the cast. Some additions worked (expansion of Maurice's character), others didn't as much
(if they have a magic book that can transport you anywhere, why did Belle need to ride a horse back to rescue her father? why didn't she just use the book to go back and then get him out of danger?).
Overall a 7/10, mostly for the visuals, Stevens and Kline.

Three months ago, I was the guy saying that Emma Watson was a terrible choice for Belle.

Three months ago, I was the guy saying that the Beast looked awful.

Three months ago, I was the guy saying that Ewan McGregor sounded terrible as Lumiere.

Today, I'm the guy putting his foot in his mouth. Emma did great. The Beasts look grew on me. And Ewen's voice was just right... especially during 'Be Our Guest.' This movie exceeded every one of my expectations. Gaston and LeFou were show stealers. Perfect casting, right there. There were a few minor things I didn't care for, but overall this was an excellent movie. I'm glad my wife drug me to it.

Disney’s live action take on the tale as old as time scored an estimated $18M yesterday, +33% from Monday notching the best Tuesday before the summer season ever.

Beauty and the Beast not only beats the previous pre-summer Tuesday record holder Furious 7 ($13.3M) and last year’s Batman v. Superman ($12.1M), but it also outstrips the Tuesday of such tentpoles as The Avengers ($17.67M), (Rogue One ($17.6M) and Captain America: Civil War ($13.76M).

Through five days, Beauty and the Beast has racked up $206.3M, tying with four other titles reaching the double-century mark at the B.O. in that time span: Captain America: Civil War, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Glad you ended up liking it.

Saw this earlier and I enjoyed it. It was better than I thought it was going to be and I thought everyone did a great job. However, I feel as though some scenes and character interactions were rushed and needed a bit more development and without trying to sound nitpicky, I think this movie underscores just how incredible the animated movie was/is.

On a more superficial note when everything/everyone was restored and we see Gugu Mbatha-Raw, I was thinking to myself that earlier in the film they were saying Belleville is the most beautiful girl and that was just crazy to me when I'm seeing Mbatha-Raw on the screen but then I remembered everyone had been bewitched to forget the castle inhabitants and whatnot so I suppose that makes sense.

$428 million worldwide in less than a week...yeah, this will easily cross a billion.

Nice.

Regarding the spoiler...
I acknowledge that novelizations of films are not always canon (so take this for what it's worth), but in the novelization of the film the book *does* travel with you to the location (which makes sense, because otherwise how would you get back?). So using that to suddenly appear out of nowhere amid an already worked up (and superstitious) mob would be extremely dangerous. Plus, from what Beast said when he instructed her how to use the book, it sounds like it takes focus in order to picture clearly where you want to go. In a high tense situation like that she might not be able to focus back on the castle quickly enough to get her and her father out of there before the mob reacts to them...and then the book could end up in Gaston's hands, and even more badness could happen. It's a pretty powerful item - even ignoring the fact that ultimately it didn't get used because they were keeping with the way the animated movie played out - to me it made sense to not risk using such a powerful item in such a volatile situation. (there might also be more revealed about it in the official tie-in novel "Lost in a Book" but I'm waiting for that to arrive, so I'll let you know as soon as I read it if there's any further information)
Just my opinion, of course.

Saw it today and it was so good. Was a little hesitant coming in since I loved the animated movie and the look of the Beast & some of the voice cast didn't excited me but I got over that real quick. Cast did a great job.

Nostalgia Critic and his brother ripped this movie a new one.
