My boyfriend and I watched this again last night and it still holds up. I continue to believe the ending is the happiest of any movie
I was not impressed. I loved the original. This was a waste of time.
I love both, for different reasons. I think each version does things better. But I am happy I live in a world where I have both.
Yup... that's pretty much my feelings as well.I love both, for different reasons. I think each version does things better. But I am happy I live in a world where I have both.
Sarah Gadon.![]()
I call this one Gaston Goes To (West) Hollywood.
Saw it tonight and really enjoyed it, I thought the expanded story worked well and the new songs fit organically, the way they brought the world to life was beautiful and I felt it captured a lot of the magic of the animated classic.
I though old Watto did a good job as Belle, she's not the most charismatic actress around but she conveyed Belle's gentle kindness perfectly and peppered it with some nice feisty moments, plus her singing voice was pleasent.
Dan Sevens did a great job as Beast, he really got across the various emotions he goes through as things with Belle progress, and I liked his new number. Obi-Wan stole the show among the CGI characters as Luminier, he was great, and the Evans/Gad duo of Gaston/LeFou was hilarious.
It was always going to be tough to make a live action version of a beloved and iconic animated classic, but I think they did a really nice job
with a well acted, visually stunning and sonically pleasing adaption. 8.5/10
Nice little review Hunter, I am glad you enjoyed it! I'm gonna order my blu copy on Amazon soon for my first watch. I am looking forward to it.
Look forward to your thoughts on it man, I think you'll enjoy it. I got Skull Island up next, had it on order a while and should finally see it next week!
Skull Isand is next for me as well, my copy of it arrived today. I will watch it sometime this weekend. I'll give you my thoughts after, I wanna hear yours as well![]()
We shall meet in the thread for a debriefing!Did you see Skull Island when it was in cinemas?
Nope did not get the time to do so, but am looking forward to it. Looks like good old monster vs monster fun.
Same thing happened to me which is a shame as I think it was a movie that definitely benefits from the big screen with those beasts, like Jurassic World.
