Is it just me, or does Lumiere's head kind of resemble Ewan McGregor's animated Obi-Wan counterpart from Clone Wars? It would sort of make sense, right?

i love that cogsworth's clock hands look like a thick moustache :D

Hard to judge from just the pictures...hope the trailer drops soon. But the casting is absolutely brilliant here

I'm sure that with these pictures being released a new trailer is imminent. Probably closer to the middle-end of the month when Moana comes out.

The live action versions have their own stories so it's not a beat for beat remake of the animated films' story. You should check out Jungle Book. Personally I think it's better than the animated film.

That is my opinion as well.

Lumiere looks a lot more human than the others, he's basically a human figure with candles on his head and hands. I wonder why they didn't try to make him look more like a candlestick? Maybe all the designs looked too freaky...

I am 99% sure it was because of Be Our Guest. The human figure no doubt gave him much better performance in the dance sequence during the song. It is the most lively and fast song in the movie and he does dance. I am very sure it was because of that.

OK, take it as you wish, but I have some inside sources who said that the trailer will be online next Friday (the 11th). It will be classified my the MPAA by Monday. Estimated running time for the trailer is 2:15 minutes.

i dont' like this beast depiction. i prefer it like the cartoons, so i did a photoshop on it. much better imho

Okay.

But you know it's a little late for you to get a say, yes? It's kind of a done deal at this point.

Even better Quality:

been waiting on the textless version to get a better look at their outfits :ilv:
i love the design of belle's dress, different from the animated version yes

but i like the fact that at first glance it may seem bland or less fancy but when u take a closer look the beauty of all the tiny details comes to light and becomes jaw dropping, "Beautiful" in a way :woot:

Okay.

wel obviously, if pics like this are coming out it's a done deal, but that doesn't change that personally, i don't think it's neccesarily bad but i just feel it doesn't have that beast look to it.
it looks more like a fusion of goathead [like the demon stuff] and beast.

i understand that there is some dark magic behind his 'transformation', and that the original cartoon was a kid's thing so it has to look a bit 'cuddly' but still.

I also dont really like Emma Watson's casting. Her face expressions on the pictures just dont cut it to me. Too 'annoyed' or 'easily agitated' look on her face. Belle - yes, it was a cartoon - naturally had a 'smiling' and 'uplifting' or lets say 'happy' expression to her face.

All i'm seeing with Emma is somebody 'acting happy' for the picture, and in anything else an annoyed brat.

the picture above of beast and belle is an example to me. she just looks 'focused' to him like posing for a poster [well offcourse she has to do that too]. I don't see the emotion in the face. only positioning.

yes i'm hating on this. i dont like how they depict the side characters either.

the only things i've kind of enjoyed untill now is the amazing scenery [building] which is spot-on gorgeous, and how 'gaston' looks.

i can't be really 'taken away' with the wardrobe stuff, as to be honest,
any 'man' who runs his own bridal wedding store and knows everything about gowns (in other words, a fashionable man that has a man for a partner) will be able to find or make the perfect cosplay in that.

The new pics are fantastic, the production looks class.

Beauty and the Beast gives Emma Watson's Belle a brand new backstory

“In the animated movie, it’s her father who is the inventor, and we actually co-opted that for Belle. I was like, ‘Well, there was never very much information or detail at the beginning of the story as to why Belle didn’t fit in, other than she liked books. Also what is she doing with her time?’ So, we created a backstory for her, which was that she had invented a kind of washing machine, so that, instead of doing laundry, she could sit and use that time to read instead. So, yeah, we made Belle an inventor.”

Well I guess they had to change something.

I guess it makes sense, as she was pretty ingenious in the original but was more of a book nerd.

I was wondering if they'd end up tweaking the story somewhat, to keep things fresh. Guess so.

I'm fine with this change. I just hope that it ends up having some kind of relevance to the plot (the animated film did this with Chip using Maurice's invention to free him and Belle in the animated film).

I literally can't wait for the trailer!
