Enter The Sandman: The Dreams Thread

There isn't, which makes it strange that I was fighting suicide bobomb, by being a scuicide bobomb.

A couple times I've dreamed that I'm back in college, or maybe it's high school, and I'm kicking back cuz I'm doing fine and keeping up with my classes, except there's one that I've been completely ignoring, apparently some sort of botany class, and I know it's going to bite me in the ass.

I used to suffer from sleep paralysis. Lots of strange **** happened then and it used to occur frequently when I was 5-18 yrs old. Then it would stretch from every night to a week, a month and so on. Last time it I had it was about 2 years ago. Does anyone have any solid details on what causes this? My GP prescribed sedatives but never really helped much.

Several studies have concluded that many or most people experience sleep paralysis at least once or twice in their lives.

I freaked my girlfriend out once after a particularly vivid dream where I claimed I was seeing numbers which could help find some sense of complete order to the universe. I woke up convinced I could get back in the dream if she'd let me get back in the dream soon enough repeating the words "The world is curling." Waffling on about pi and some seemingly nonsensical random sequence of numbers.

So the next time you find yourself thinking life is meaningless and the universe is some mass of chaotic lunacy... blame my GF...:oldrazz:

Many people who are prone to sleep paralysis also suffer from narcolepsy, so I'd suggest going and having tests done for that... before taking sedatives or any thing else.

Reports show there are a number of factors that can affect the likelihood of sleep paralysis:

Sleeping face up
Excessive consumption of alcohol combined with inadequate sleep
Increased stress
Sudden environmental lifestyle changes
Lucid dreams can frequently precede the episodes (unable to say this is causal, though)

Anyone remember a show called Breaker High? Yeah, I had a dream kinda like that only everything looked all dilapidated and everyone was angry.

So im having this reoccurring dream (yes finally something not a nightmare) of me climbing up the stairs in this big office/hotel building. It has wide hallways, wide doors, big windows and empty space around. Everytime I get to the next floor there's always just a couple of people who are just there, I cant recognize them. They just stand there either looking at me or them talking about something. I cant remember how it ends but that is all I remember.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR:hrt:

I was watching Tron: Legacy, exept it played out quite differently.
It focused on Kevin building up not just the grid again, but also the SURROUNDING PLANETS. Building Saturn, we learn, cost 4 quadrillion credits.
When it's all done, we find Sam returns to celebrate the completion of the grid, popping some champaign or whatever with with the other programs. The siryn played by Beau Garret was there too.

I had the strangest of dreams earlier today.

It was me back in college and one of my friends there was seeing a professor there I think and was a ballerina. Next thing I knew she was going Black Swan or something and I had to calm her down. Later in the dream, Winston from the Ghostbusters shows up, though I could hear Egon speaking through the radio and Winston was ranting and raving about something that involved Raven from ECW or possibly Michael Myers. I went to get to my friend and I asked for her help about something.

Then the dream sorta ends there.

Strange?

I dreamed me and my friend from college were in Wal-Mart sometime in the early AM when its especially bright in the store. We had set up one of those rabbit traps with the box, stick and string. Except the box was a large refrigerator box and we were trying to catch Slenderman.

I have no idea why.

I had a dream two nights ago that I fell down from the top of a building and survived. I quickly got back up and for whatever reason, wanted someone to shoot me. There was a male and female staring at me, but I can't make out their faces. The male pulled out a gun and shot me. I was on the ground, but still alive so I shouted at him to shoot me again. After he did, I was killed but could now see myself in the 3rd perspective instead of the 1st. There were two of me now: The one that just died and was being put in a bag by the police, and my ghost self watching it all happen. My ghost went home and my family could see me unlike everyone else. Then I woke up.

By far one of the most interesting dreams I have ever had.

Another great dream I remember happened last year. I was in a warzone, but there was no one out there but me, a news reporter, and this man with a shotgun:
2usbin4.jpg

I was being hunted by him from the morning until night time, and throughout the hunt the news lady was reporting it. By the time night came, he was gone. I began running in a field towards a house in the middle of nowhere, I went inside only to see Jack Nicholson, Malin Akerman, Jake Gyllenhaal, and a number of other celebrities watching television with the old farmer man. After I take a seat, and the man goes into the kitchen, I speed out of there. Finally, I run through a closed Wal-Mart, walk on the highway, cross the street to get to my condo, find two dead deer :csad:, and stare at my condominium's window as the sun begins to rise. By far the worst dream I ever had, since the hunt felt so real and I felt like I was there forever. It literally felt like I was being hunted and tried to escape for 2 hours. Never experienced something so terrifying. It felt like No Country For Old Men.

I was at KMart with my brother and my mom. I think my brother was in a wheelchair for some reason. Anyway, we had decided to go in there real fast, and we went to the action figure rack. There were tons of figures that caught my eye. There was an older Batman/Catwoman 2-pack, there was a classic TMNT Casey Jones and a newer one, there was Lex in his green suit, etc. There was also a shelf full of loos figures, specifically old He-Man and She-Ra for the most part, all perfectly lined up and looking better than a shelf full of loose figures ever would. I found a She-Ra complete with tiara, cape, and jeweled sword (I stole the skirt off another figure that was there), and went to the checkout. I also got a lottery ticket, beause what the hell. The checkout guy (whose nametag read "TWIN") rung up my stuff, and the total was like $27 and change. That seemed kind of high, so I asked what was going on. He went over each thing, and there were like three items on there that I didn't ask for, including a coffee cake (which he took a bite out of), a book, and a perscription for some pills that apparently my wheelchair-riding brother was also getting. I told him I didn't want any of that stuff, I just wanted the action figure and the ticket. It took like 5 minutes for him to cancel each item, it was so ridiculous, lines are getting longer all around us, until finally he finished checking me out and I got the hell out of there.

i keep dreaming about a cemetery i've never seen before in a place i've never been

I was in some kind of horror movie. From what I can recall, me and a bunch of friends were holed up in a mall while a zombie apocalypse is going on outside. Meanwhile, me and my friends sit around and shoot the breeze, chatting thru rote exposition how some of them are now demon possessed (I just watched Let Me In, so the demonic friends looked kinda like that). Once the exposition is done, we start with the chasing, fighting and killing. A bunch of us get to the entryway, where there are 3 exits out thru glass doors. The exits to the far left and right both have hundreds of zombies roving the parking lot, while the exit in the middle only has about a dozen, so we go out that way. Me and my friends bash and shoot some zombie heads before getting away.

Cut to the resolution, where a parade of people survey the damage while returning to their homes and their daily lives, strangely unconcerned that hundreds if not thousands of family and friends have surely died.

Horrible dream last night. I owned an Infinity G35(not sure why, I'm not crazy about that car) and when I came out of whatever club I was in, my car was all smashed up. Rear bumper hanging on by the goodness of the Lord and scratches all over the sides. Attached to the windshield was a note. I assumed it was the person's contact/insurance info. Wrong. The note read "Our bad. Don't worry about it"

WTF :argh:

I had a nightmare last night, for some reason I was being chased by a group of people in suits. It led to me running around in a small airport and trying to get on a plane and escape. For some reason almost no one was at this airport. Finally, I went outside of the airport and found a escape car. The moment I turn on the engine, I saw another car coming towards me (turns out it was the people who was chasing me) and we crash. Then I woke up.

So odd, I dozed off earlier today and it was almost the exact same dream but shorter.

The next time you have this dream don't run from them, face them and fight them Neo.

I literally dream about Fallout 3 since I've been playing it a lot lately.

Judging by some of the reviews I've read for that game, I'm guessing you've been having nightmares lately?

No nightmares for me except for losing Dogmeat in that tunnel. Poor Dogmeat. Sure he was an idiot for running into fire breathing ants, but I kinda miss him.

Get the puppies perk and you can get a new Dogmeat.

I dreamed that I won the lotto and everybody and their mother was trying to kill me. You'd think that would be a nightmare, but damn it if it wasn't fun killing people.

I'm guessing I have to play the game to understand that joke, right? :csad:

There was a yellowjacket(?) in my apartment last night. I caught it and tossed it out and it crawled back in thru a crack at the bottom of the door, so I tossed it out again.

So naturally my dream saw insects the size of my foot crawling in thru the same crack while I kept tossing them out.

Why was there randomly a yellow jacket in your apartment? Or did this all happen in your dream?

The yellowjacket/bee/wasp was real. The giant bugs showed up in the dream.
