Episode 07 - "Nothing To Hide" - Discussion Thread

I think that was a dream sequence.......he's dead

I'm thinking that Peter is not only a power mimic like Mimic, he's also an empath like Raven. He could feel it when his brother was hurt. He could feel it when it was the right time to get with Simone. He could feel when Charles died. He just doesn't realise it yet!

Finally we get to find out if the HRG is good or evil.

I think that HRG is good.

I see him as basically a sane version of Maxwell Lord. Wanting to make sure that the Earth won't be threatened by metahuman people. Uses dubious methods. Uses metahumans to acheive his goals.

But unlike Max, he himself has no powers and is not a villain. Also he is still caring and is not drunk with power which the exact opposite happened with Max.

good episode, wasn't as great as the others, but still informative and enjoyable

i totally knew it! Micha is a technopath ^_^ and we finally know what to call bad niki now, Jessica. not a very threatening name, but at least we have a name now lol and Micha already knew about her @_@ so i wonder if that means that Jessica has been talking to Micha herself...

i dont like the idea how Clair's blood flows back into her body, i dont remember seeing it do that during the other times she had cuts. it makes it seem that the blood tissue has a mind of its own or something. i would of figured that since she can regenerate cells, her blood cells wouldn't need to go back in since she can always just make more in a snap.

i have a new theory on the bomb, i starting to suspect that its the pyro guy now. he said that he doesn't know what exactly happens when he loses control, perhaps he is the bomb and maybe Sylar or Lindermen or whoever bad guy used him

and whats up with the new symbol? the one on Matt and on the pyro criminal. u think its the same symbole we been seeing but just hasnt fully surfaced or a completely new symbol?

starting to feel like there are too many characters...Where was Mohinder besides narrating? Whats up with H.R.G? I still say evil...no matter how far he'll go to protect Claire...Nikki needs to be tamed...and fast. D.L. needs to really tell his son the truth...and vice versa. Peter gets informed about every major detail...and minor ones too, from all characters and events in the show...the amount that he knows so far is just about more than anyone else...could he be the future team leader?
I wish they'd speed things up.

Great episode. Definately an improvement from last week's, which was also good. I'm liking a lot of the development that is taking place. Especially with the reveal of Micah being a technopath. Which was actually hinted a bit in the very first epsiode, when he was fixing his computer. I think Micah has an Ex Machina type ability.

I hate coming into these threads so late because pretty much everyone has said anything I would've wanted to say. :'(

So for now, I'll just say pretty damn good episode, and Hiro's gonna get it on next week. I gotta imagine being able to manipulate time and space works wonders in the bedroom.

Why is everyone so impatient with the story? Wheres the fun in rushing everything? I want to see this show carry on for a while, but it seems like everyone just wants 1 character, and the show to be done in 3 weeks. Where's the fun in that?

and now to post my usual weekly message:

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE NIKKI!!!!!!! THIS SHOW GETS BETTER AND BETTER!!

I found this episode to be pretty weak really. It didn't pick up until the end.

Wholeheartedly agree.

Well, I certainly didn't expect the bomb to be a person. Question is, how Radioactive Man is going to get to New York. Considering how his wife's dead, he's got nothing to lose.

And Micah's power (come on we all knew he had one :cwink:). I'm thinking it could be more than just being a technopath and maybe a form electromagnetism, sort of like Magneto. But hey, if his dad is in a jam and needs a quick getaway, his kid is ideal for hotwiring a car.:yay:

As for the appearance of the symbol on radioactive guy and Matt's shoulders, I'm thinking it supposed to be a sign that their powers are increasing and developing, a sort of genetic "birthmark." After all, when Niki only has the symbol when she's "Jessica" because, for all intents and purposes, Niki is normal while her other personality is a super. This convinces me that these folks powers were the result of genetic tampering, probably by Mohinder's dad. I bet the connection between all of the "Heroes" involved some sort of fertility experiment for infertile couples and that eventually, all of the characters with powers either have or are in the process of developing these "birthmarks" the more they use their powers.

Anyone have the preview for next week?

It LOOKS like they slowed the pace a bit on the last two episodes, but at a second viewing the episodes always seem more dynamic.

If it's true, I don't think it would have been Mohinder's dad. I think it would have been whatever organization Mr. Bennet represents. Professor Suresh just stumbled onto whatever they were up to and died because of it.

What if Pops Suresh just FAKED his death? The actor who appears on the back cover of Pops book (but not on the family's picture) is Erick Avari. And you don't hire Erick Avari just for a headshot.

Interesting theory, but do you think that Claires birth parents would have given her up for adoption if they were finally able to have a child?

Annnnd... what if it turns out that RHM *IS* Claire's real dad, maybe with another woman? He's surely more protective than her mother (that, obviously, is NOT her real mom).

I don't know how the level of protectiveness you exhibit translates to whether or not you are biologically related. My brother adopted a son and loves him just as much as his two biological children.

micah is a tecnokid..great
claire's brother deserves an ass whippin
nathan's wife is a bonafide hottie
I really hope matt's wife isnt cheating with his partner..that would suck
jessica...with a gun. Oh $$**

The previews kept mentioning that "There secret is out" but only Claire's secret is out. I didn't see any other hint of someone else's secret being "out", did you all? Isn't that kind of misleading?

great episode, I was expecting to see Micah show his powers at least by now... the Nathan/Peter chemistry is beyond great, I love both of those characters, Matt is a great, great, great human being, Jessica kicks ass, Hiro... well, Hiro is HIRO and that's all there is to say about him

I liked how all these threads are starting to come together, Linderman's omniprescence, which makes me think there's more to it than we think we know. Somehow, I think we actually got to see what Sylar looks like in this episode, but I don't think it was the doctor they found on the police files, methinks is someone else we saw on this one

I loved the whole "that issue is not out yet" "I got it from the future" exchange between Micah and Hiro

I wonder where Nikki got Nate's home phone number

Jessica knows where Micah and DL are headed
we know that Micah has powers
Matt's wife is being porked by his ******* partner

other secrets? I don't know, Hiro has a early bird program subscription to 9th Wonders?

If he is empathic, which it seem that he is that power could come back to bite him in the ass... usually, well on any other tv shows that Ive seen empaths go insane because there pwoer gets so strong. Im worried about Peter, it seems like something drastic is going to have to happen to him to get Nathan to start accepting his powers.

I feel for Matt, his wife was cheating on him with one of his fellow officers.
Claire should really just slap her brother.

I think we will see him - but either in Flashback or as one of Hiro's steps back in time. Like, an early one by accident before he realises what stepping back in time does to the timeline (remember him saying to Peter in the subway that he was risking a rift by doing so).

I really wanna see the bit when Nathan finally accepts his power and says the bit to Peter that is in the promo online "how fast do you think we can fly?". We had the punchout from the promo this episode (I wondered who Matt hit and thought it might be HRG), and they now have Radioactive Man in custody so we'll probably see the glass of water boiling scene next week.
