I think the new look is growing on me. & for anyone saying they wish the new look had a long coat like The Blur outfit, well, for all we know it is a long coat. We can't see past the waste in these two short shots, so ya never know.

It's not a long coat.

I mostly wanna know the reason why Clark decides to slick his hair back all of a sudden, if it's important enough.

This is something Red Kryptonite Clark would wear, or Arthur Fonzarelli. :D

I'm more interested in the shirt he's wearing under the jacket. Is it the same black blur t-shirt or a more colorful version?

It was good episode, compare to the crap last season.

Tad dissapointed they're gonna use the Superman Returns suit with a new cape...

except that they're not. the producers have said already that the SR suit was just being used as a prop not the actual suit Wellling is going to wear.

i thought this episode was good not great i think it could have been better. there were some moments in the episode where i was like wth but the Jonathan and Clark scene gave the episode a nice touch to it. I am glad they ended the Lex Clone thing real quick. And i loved the references to the first episode of smallville. Liked the Suit Liked the Darkseid Smoke Monster but i thought that his eyes should have been red instead of blue The Acting in the episode was good except for the first scene with Tom in the Twilight Zone his performance was utter crap but improved later on. Overall i give this episode a 8 1/2 out of 10

8 1/2 out of 10 is your rating for a good not great episode?...

This was an odd episode, it kinda felt like the entier episode was a bizzare dream sequence.

Didn't Zod completely demolish the console in the Fortress in the finale? So how is it Jor-El can a) Talk to Clark & b) Have a major character change towards Clark, this Jor-El has never exactly been the Marlon Brando easy going type, but a tough love Jor-El.. but in this episode the few lines seemed completely out of character.. even for this version.

The only reason I can think off for Jor-El's *******ry in this episode, as well as taking into the fact Zod demolished the console, is that it was some form of dickery/manipulation on Darkseid's part to try & break Clark down mentally... and then the Jonathan hallucination was his own conscience..

Or maybe I'm reading too much into it & the demolished console, & the new and improved super asswipe Jor-El are just plot holes.

It all felt like it had something to do with Darkseid.. including the Lex clone/Tess. The only reason they felt like they are connected to Darkseid, story wise, is the fact that it was Granny who appeared to save Tess and also that Lex's words from his speach to Clark kinda echoed what Jor-El said at the end..

I'm officially intrigued, I hope this is a Darkseid related episode in that he was responsible for 80% of what happened.. otherwise my opinion on the episode will probably drop to a 'meh' instead of 'good'.

I'm a little confused by something. I thought that Pa Kent was really back and not in ghost form or in a dream sequence. I thought that John Schneider said that he was REALLY back, and yet in the episode he's there one minute and then the next he's gone. I thought that in one of the interviews that he did during ComiCon, he said that he was back from the dead. Maybe I misinterpreted it or something, but if anyone has any idea, please fill me/us in.

Watch Reeve in STM where he's at Lois's after her "Date" with Superman. While he's wating for her to get a jacket and he's thinking about telling her the truth the man grows three inches right there on camera. No FX, Just Reeve acting.

He did the same in Superman II. After Lois see's Clark pull the brush out of the fire, He stands there with his back to Lois thinking and the man grows from shorter Clark to the taller Superman.

It's the little things like that that made Reeve's Superman the best of the bunch IMO.

Yea I saw it last night and had to rewind the DVD a couple of times just to watch that scene again. Even though the only thing he does is take off the glass, he still looks and sounds like two different characters. It's not just the appearance of the face, but also his mannerisms and movement of the body that Reeve used to make Clark look different than Superman.

I'm more interested in the shirt he's wearing under the jacket. Is it the same black blur t-shirt or a more colorful version?
I would say it's not a black shirt because if it was, why go with a red jacket. I think it's most likely a blue shirt. The question is, how does the shield look?

This was an odd episode, it kinda felt like the entier episode was a bizzare dream sequence.
I agree, part of me was thinking that Clark was still dead, but then he came back so soon, but he seemed a little different. I also thought the Jonathan stuff was going to be earlier in the episode, like an afterlife thing or something, but instead it was at the end, which only made it seem weirder.

Actually, for the most part, he kept saying "Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated" and that he wasn't completely sure himself how he comes back. But he will make a couple more appearances in the season. I just hope, after reading the OD for "Homecoming" that they don't retcon his death or something just to make him come back for real.

He really is back, as in he's back on the show.

He's not alive. You can call him a ghost or whatever you see fit. It was all in Clark's head, maybe Jor-El or Darkseid are somehow connected to this. It's a mystery.

I was sort of disappointed with the lex story. I really wanted the REAL lex to be alive somewhere so they can bring him back at the end. I don't want to hear that he really is dead. That's ******. Also I don't get how Lex is going to be his greatest enemy if they make the great darkness coming into darkseid. I guess I just wanted a hint that Lex was still alive so we could know that he is alive in the background somewhere and would reappear at the end of the season. I wonder how they will work him back in? I guess just say the lex clone was lying or that he is another clone?

I don't know if this was discussed or not, but why do you think they reused that Vast song from the end of Veritas? I don't think it fitted the end of this episode very much.

If they really wanted to reuse something from Smallville's catalogue of songs, why not Morcheeba's Gained The World. It would've fitted the end much better.

Yea, I mentioned it last night. As soon as I heard the song, I thought back to Veritas and that seen with Lana, which is a shame became this episode had a few memorable shots in the montage that should have their own original song to be remembered by. But I thought it was a decent fit considering that it could be applied to each of the main characters longing for one more day for the one they love, (even though Tess gets another day with the Lex child)

except that they're not. the producers have said already that the SR suit was just being used as a prop not the actual suit Wellling is going to wear.
It's still stupid, why show the SR suit?
What, Jor El will be sewing him a new suit untill the season finale?

This episode ticked me off, purely because of the teasing at the suit. The episode in general felt a little jam-packed, but as a set up for the season I think it did a well enough job.

yea there was alot of good i say in the premiere i did enjoy it alot myself too. The lex stuff was fun, the pa kent scene was great. So cant wait to see where darkseid story goes. As for the costume we still dont know for sure if ultimately tom is going to wear a suit like the SR suit. Since we were told it was only used as a prop for the show. Their final suit could end up looking slightly different for all we know. Plus even if it is just the SR suit it would need to be totally reworked to fit welling's body type. Since he and routh at the time the suit was made have different body types. So just throwing routh suit on with no changes isnt going to work for tom's body.

I think the stuff Jor-El told Clark made him look at himself on the inside so that he could realize that he isn't exactly perfect just yet, but the fact that Chloe said he does become the World's hero and not while wearing black, along with the reassurance from Jonathan at the end, is what fuels Clark to makes the final changes toward becoming Superman. He knows it's his fate, no matter what Jor-El says, but Jor-El wasn't completely wrong in his assessment of Clark's behavior.

That could be their plan. Also has anyone seen any ratings numbers in yet. Usally that fancast guy matt mitovich has early reports by now. Before the livefeed/tvbythenumbers official numbers are in like around noon-1pm range.

yea so many were worried that chloe was going to be dr. fate. When it wasnt that big deal at all.

Darkseid looked good to me. We know step by step their going to reveal the same thing, just as of right now, hes sorta of a smoke monster. Gotta be patient.

So the reason we saw Jonathan, cause Clark was not alive not dead, just in the middle like pugatory. Though we know Lionel is coming back, is that how we are going to see him as well? Somebodies gotta almost kill Clark again.

Still pretty good episode. I actually did like the Lex clone, but don't know what the hell is Tess going to do with Alexander...

For 1 that wasn't a complaint. I thought it was funny - hence the lol part.:whatever:

2. I've been pointing out flaws w/ Clark's superpowers or lack thereof since I can remember, it doesn't mean it isn't valid or make sense.

3. Why wouldn't he look around? Dude was just stabbed on top of a building and just figures that Jor-El magically pulled a dagger out of his chest. Please..... the first thing he'd do is look around and Lois wasn't even trying very hard to hide, you could easily see her w/ 20/50 vision.

Nitpicking again? I could nitpick even more but in this case it makes sense, Clark is used to Jor-El saving/helping him.

Speaking of nitpicking, why heroes always arrive on time to save people, is not the way it happens in reality! Why Lex is so stupid in the comics, movies and this series, isn't he supposed to be a genius? Wait a sec, now that I think about it, the Superman movies, comics, TV series are silly for the most part, why the hell do I keep wasting my time with them! :oldrazz:

Seriously, we could nitpick every single thing, but what matters is to be entertained and care about the characters, which we do. Erica was brilliant, she's the best Lois ever and Tom did a great job. I think they handled the old Lex-clone well, little Alexander and Tess brings an interesting dynamic, Jor-El is being used again by TPTB to create some friction and stall the moment everybody has been waiting for. As for Darkseid, I'm not sure it will work as well as Zod or even Davis/Doomsday because of the lack of physical presence, it seems they'll leave it for the second half of the season, we'll see.

Good premiere, Clark is indeed closer than ever to be the hero he was meant to be. :word:

yea so many were worried that chloe was going to be dr. fate. When it wasnt that big deal at all.
Lol, yea guess some of us jumped the gun there. I loved how Nabu as saying she wasn't the chosen one and that love is dangerous, because he already know what she was thinking.

So the reason we saw Jonathan, cause Clark was not alive not dead, just in the middle like pugatory. Though we know Lionel is coming back, is that how we are going to see him as well? Somebodies gotta almost kill Clark again.
One of the interviews had Lionel included as one of many returning foes, which makes me wonder will Lionel return evil? I guess it would kinda make sense if he is the vessel of Jor-El and feels like Clark is a failure. I also remember back around Comic-Con interviews that said Clark will face ghosts of his past, some of which will try to stop him or something like that.

Lazarus ratings are in:

And here we go.... #SMALLVILLE premiere draws 2.9 million viewers. Its 1.2 rating beat Mod Fam and Human target repeats. less than 20 seconds ago via web

I highly enjoyed the final season premiere of smallvile. That being said, the scene where Jor- El is chastising Clark; why couldnt that be him or be.....Braniac manipulating him again. And the talk with the black suit and the POSSIBILITY of the red jacket suitish thing; my opinon is I can with Clark wearing the black suit he was/is going through a dark period in his life. I remember when he first adorn the black suit, he was going through a rough batch. To alleviate pressure of him and his loved ones, he wanted to make Clark Kent go away and just be the blur/kal-el and concentrate on his training.
I think some of that dissappear when his feelings for lois became stronger and Lois and he started a relationship, but some of those dark feelings lingered. After the events in FOS with Jor-El and the conversation with J. Kent. The transition to bright colours before the suit could be seen as him still trying to be a hero but more or less stepping into the light and shedding the darkness and be the beacon everyone could look up to.
