except that they're not. the producers have said already that the SR suit was just being used as a prop not the actual suit Wellling is going to wear.

If that's true then I think the most we'll see of Clark wearing the suit will be a shirt rip at the end. Or maybe his cape from rear view. I don't think we'll see him fully in the suit.

Notice, they've only shown the top of the suit up to this point. The producers said they'll be teasing the top half here and there in the first half. So we haven't really seen the whole thing aside from that vision Clark had in Salvation where you could barely make out the red and blue tights of the lower half.

We might get a better look in "Homecoming" when Brainiac 5 takes Clark to the future.

I hope they don't use the same "cape flapping in the wind" scene again for Clark's future. I'd like something new.

I hope so. I remember reading about Chloe seeing Clark in red and blue and thinking "They better show it!", but they didn't. :csad:

One of the producers said it was taken out due to time. But they will save the vision for a future episode.

the exc. producers revealed in an interview that the scene was cut (which showed brief glimpses of visions Chloe saw of the future) will reappear later on in the season.

I thought they said that was a flashback though.

TV Guide Magazine: What happened to the Chloe flashback that was supposed to be part of the season opener?
Souders:
Well, as you can attest to, the season opener is jam-packed and it actually came in over, time-wise, and we had to make the very hard decision as to what we needed in the show for story purposes. And we have two scenes with Alison that were fantastic... which you will [eventually] see.

i doubt they will just end with a simple shirt rip since we already seen it with the black shirt deal. What ever they do he better be in the suit for final episode for a good portion.

LEX LUTHOR'S EVIL AND OLDER CLONE :D:D:D

Why are people still saying Clark saw Jonathon because he was sort of dead?

He wasn't, and that isn't it.

Clark imagined Jonathon like Dexter imagines his dad. I think this is a great idea to do this. Jonathon shouldn't have been killed. Clark needs him...

What better way than to do it this way? I hope they at least pepper more scenes with Clark talking about his troubles and letting things out to a "projection" of Jonathon throughout the season than just hold it all in and just scream at Jor-El.

yea that is an interesting way to use jonathon i think.

Any extra scenes we can get with Schneider the better in these last 21 episodes. The man is amazing. Yes, the start "Save Me" last night almost made me choke up but that was just because pretty soon I'll never hear those again in a new sense, I've been with show since day 1 through thick or thin.

But, that Clark/Jon scene killed me. Not only did it hit at home with my awesome relationship with my dad but those two are the best father/son on tv. It's television gold right there, and shows why those first few seasons, minus the krypto-freaks, were so damn good. The family aspect was just the coolest thing this show has ever done and we need to see more of it i this last season to round out Clark and hopefully show him why he needs Lois, etc...

I hope so but I just don't see the point of them teasing the SR suit all season long if he isn't going to wear it.

Decent episode hurt largely by the plot holes and inconsistancy. I did like the downbeat tone but the lack of action in it brings me to the conclusion that the budget is being spared for later stages in the season or is just severly slashed even from last season.

It's odd that despite the bigtime money shots in this episode that we are not all raving about it being an absolute homerun. Favourite moment was Pa Kent returning. it was shot and scored beautifully and the actors did a great job. However I do think that it would have had a much bigger emotional impact had they left such a scene for the final episode of the season as a pep talk before Clark's final showdown with Darkseid.

When will iTunes put this episode up? They have Supernatural on there but no Smallville. :csad:

I loved Clark super speeding into overdrive to save Lois and then super leaping/flying upward with the Daily Planet globe. Both the sequence and the score captured the heroic side of Superman prefectly.

after the end of last season my bro told me how he'd like to see Clark take flight..... and interestingly i think we may have seen a VERY similar thing happen...

Ratings.

And this is Smallville, the show is 90% teasing. Always has been.

I think the new Red/Blue Blur outfit is gonna be Clark/Welling's definitive costume for the remainder of the series.

It was a leap. It was more or less the same Smallville-ized physics for a leap that we also saw in "Crimson" during Red K Clark's jump with Lois.

When SV finally decides to do flight, we will know it and Clark will know it. They will be 100% obvious about it. Until then they're just teasing it and working around it.

It's still stupid, why show the SR suit?
What, Jor El will be sewing him a new suit untill the season finale?

Because it's a prop they could get on the cheap and the section of the SR suit that we saw, which was basically just the chest, will likely be indistinguishable from the one Welling is going to wear. Welling couldnt wear the SR suit even if they wanted him to as it was custom built to fit that "other guy" who wore it in that movie.

That's why I'm skeptical Welling will even wear it. The 'other guy' came close to busting the seams on it and those suits are insanely expensive to make.

I believe we'll see the image Clark in the suit and CG will be involved (it would probably be a flight shot anyway), but Tom actually wearing that thing? Very skeptical.

I'm still crapping myself over that glimpse at Darkseid. :wow::up:

Anyone else think that most of Clark's heroic theme is a 90% ripoff from the intro to the Star Trek theme by Jerry Goldsmith?

Here. Check the beginning up to 00:13.
