well superfreak john S is schedule to be in at least 2 to 3 episodes possibly.

I give Lazarus 8/10. There were a couple of things I didn't like, such as the pacing and Jor-El being an $%#. Overall it was pretty good.

I thought Welling's acting was pretty good. If there was any cheesy part, I think it was the "To step into the light" line. The way he said it was a little forced but that's minor nitpicking. Overall, I liked his acting in this episode.

I was only hearing these things from the characters.

Clark: "Whine! Whine! Whine!"

Jor-El:"*****e! *****e! *****e!"

Chole:"Nag! Nag! Nag!"

Johnathan:"DEAD! DEAD! DEAD!"

Lex clone#13821420:"ALIVE! ALIVE! DEAD!"

:cwink:

Then you obviously missed the whole episode.

and so did you, because there was one thing the episode did, and that was take us back to the same whipped to death formulaic trap that SV was in for it's first 5 years. Jor'el is negative, Kents are positive, Clark is half stupid/half righteous.

the super save wasn't so super (is welling able to actually run, I know that the bullet time, and space limitations, means that he might be only be able jog around the set... but come on, he was jogging at superspeed, 10 years in, they should have a solution to make welling actually run (not jog), then put him in bullet time)

I was also a little dissappointed with Mercy's healing... it was a perfect oportunity to leave her face scarred, so that she could take on the classic Mercy image, only ever seeing half her face.

that's good, because I really want them to play on that theme. It really hasn't been used in any live action superman up to now... usually, as soon as Jor'el comes into the picture, he overshadows the importance of the Kents, as has been done is SV. I hope this season, the Kents take back what is theirs

lol. I liked how this woman described it at 1:20

But I agree there has been worse acting than that on the show before..

I found nothing wrong with the episode. If I start nitpicking about every little thing I can think of about this show, I'd bore myself to sleep. So I choose to ignore that and enjoy the show. If there is something big that I dislike, then I'd address it. But this episode never bored me and never made the characters look bad in my point of view.

Yea superfreak it is nice that they got john s back for a limited amount of episodes. Really cant wait to see what other episodes he is in and their plan for the character. Same with john glover's return as lionel coming in nov. As for tom's acting i thought he was pretty good in the premeire.

Darksied did look like crap, a mist c'mon, its just disrespectful to Kirby and all of his 4thworld characters. I expected to see a glimpse of Apokalips with Darksied sitting in his throne room planning his attack on earth. Instead we saw a goul mist and his eyes wasn't even glowing Omega beam red. Im hoping the mist is something else instead of Darksied.

Interesting that Clark thought he was flying for a sec when he saved those people. Also the Alexander Luthor kid I think will turn out interesting, I think he will start to rapidly age as the season goes on, and start to retain all of the original Lex memories, well lets hope the original Lex does show up and is not dead.

well he is only mist for now, sure i wish they went with a full form now. Also another thing we dont know whats the story behind his mist form. Maybe he lost his body, trapped between worlds who knows. But i can wait to see what they decide to do with the character. Cause for all we know by mid season/last half of the season he could end up being a full form. Either they design a monster looking suit like doomsday(which for the suit itself i thought looked good) or just have some one in a costume like i made a comment before something in line of sg1's gould solider/leader costumes and all that.

I agree!

That's exactly the reason why he looked like that now. First, Darkseid isn't in his complete form, so the mist/smoke is not the complete him. They alredy said we'll see a more complete form by episode 3, and as the season goes on he will be complete. Second, the producers have already said that he is cgi now, but they're still making up their mind as to whether that will continue or if they will make a costume and hire an actor. It is just like the process they had in season 8 with Doomsday, which was described on the dvd featurette. Of course Doomsday only worked with an actor because they didnt have to fully reveal it until the end. They kept him mostly in shadows. But Darkseid might end up being cgi in order to make it look more like the comic version. I mean, isn't it better than the rumors floating around of another Davis Bloome incident where they end up making him human.

well i still think going for a doomsday like suit and hiring a stunt actor for like 2-3 episodes wouldnt be that bad, or if they want a completed darkseid to interact more go like i made the comments months ago about hiring an actor at least same height as welling and give him a good costume like persauder was or something like as i said a costume like gould solider.

TV Guide Magazine: So we get our first glimpse of Darkseid.
Souders:
Yes.
TV Guide Magazine: Is he going to remain a CGI presence?
Souders:
Um, I wouldn't say so. [Laughs] I think you'll see some more solid forms of him coming up quickly. Like episode 3.
TV Guide Magazine: So as he infects various characters?
Souders:
Yeah. And for comics fans, there will be a lot of parts of the comics that will be woven into that storyline.
TV Guide Magazine: Like Gordon Godfrey (Michael Daingerfield) leading the anti-superhero movement in the "Supergirl" episode?
Souders:
Yep, exactly.

After re-reading this, now knowing what happening in Lazarus, I'm beginning to think we won't see Darkseid himself in solid form, but rather him controlling people. The wording in the interview gives me the impression that the only solid form we'll see of him is him taking control of others the same way that we see demons as black clouds of smoke that use people as vessels in Supernatural.

I wonder what they will do for the end of the season when Clark has to face Darkseid in person. Hopefully they will have him in his full form by then.

I was hoping that Smallville would get past the whole "human representative" angle for villains. It really put me off Doomsday and Davis being just one of the guys, then Braniac also. I'd like for Darkseid to be a straight out villain, maybe using others to manipulate, but for he himself to be the alien creature.

On an additional note, just watched Superman & Batman: Apocalypse...

The last fight against Darkseid would be amazing recreated as Superman's first true big battle in costume.
