Yeah, I don't know if I like Blade pimp-slappin' pregnant women, but it was for her own good, I guess. I love that we're seeing a network of associates Blade works with, as one of the things I hated in Trinity was the implication that Blade thought he was the only one taking on the vampires, even though the first film has Whistler clearly stating that there were "others" besides him and Blade fighting the vampires. I was kinda hoping Blade's "doctor" friend would end up being Karen Jensen, but I guess you can't win 'em all. It'll be interesting to see young Whistler next week, though. I've come to accept they're not following the movies explicitly, especially in terms of Blade's origin, as it does seem rather vague in the movies, in the sense that there's no indication of what his life was like before the thirst took over at puberty.
Seeing Chase over the course of the episode was great, although I seriously doubt she'd still be smoking from the explosion in the hours it must have taken them to fly her from Berlin to Detroit.
And I was also pissed that the promos for the encore spoiled Krista's injury. Granted, the make-up job could have been better, and Jill Wagner needed to control her blinking a bit better, 'cause it showed in the eye that was covered in the wound makeup. They got the point across, though.
I loved that there was this theme of mothers that carried through the episode. Blade dealing with his mother, Vanessa (as the doctor pointed out, her name is the same as Blade's mother) simply wanting her "baby" to be safe, and Krista finding out her mother has cancer.
