there was problems with 2 of the trophies, you had to do certain things in multiplayer, but when the game was patched it messed up so if say you had 9/10 of the things done pre-patch, post patch it wouldn't register even if you re did all the required elements

Sony released a very detailed description of what happened:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/04/26/update-on-playstation-network-and-qriocity/

Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained. While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained.

Fortuantely for me my cc info is not saved on my account bc for whatever reason it wont allow me to purchae anymore. Thank god that fluke is turning out to be a good thing for me now

I tried adding in my Credit Card info when all of this happened & it would not let me as things started cracking down. So I guessed I dodged a big one. People can not complain about Microsoft having a closed network anymore after this. I know Live has had its share of being hacked & what not but not as bad as this

So its safe to say it will be down for a while

Oh that's just wonderful! :o My cc info IS stored on my PS3. Wait, is that info stored on the PS3 or on their servers?

Valued PlayStation Network/Qriocity Customer:
We have discovered that between April 17 and April 19, 2011, certain PlayStation Network and Qriocity service user account information was compromised in connection with an illegal and unauthorized intrusion into our network. In response to this intrusion, we have:
Temporarily turned off PlayStation Network and Qriocity services;
Engaged an outside, recognized security firm to conduct a full and complete investigation into what happened; and
Quickly taken steps to enhance security and strengthen our network infrastructure by re-building our system to provide you with greater protection of your personal information.
We greatly appreciate your patience, understanding and goodwill as we do whatever it takes to resolve these issues as quickly and efficiently as practicable.

For your security, we encourage you to be especially aware of email, telephone, and postal mail scams that ask for personal or sensitive information. Sony will not contact you in any way, including by email, asking for your credit card number, social security number or other personally identifiable information. If you are asked for this information, you can be confident Sony is not the entity asking. When the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services are fully restored, we strongly recommend that you log on and change your password. Additionally, if you use your PlayStation Network or Qriocity user name or password for other unrelated services or accounts, we strongly recommend that you change them, as well.

"Some" services might be restored "within a week." That doesn't sound good.

No compensation for PS Plus users. But no mention of DC Universe Online Subscribers not getting anything yet

The problem that Sony is facing isn't so much that their services have been off line, or that some data may have been compromised, but the real problem is that they've sat on it this whole time.

another week and and"some"service!?!?:(

I dont see where it says some services may be restored within a week

Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve the current outage of PlayStation Network & Qriocity services. We are currently working to send a similar message to the one below via email to all of our registered account holders regarding a compromise of personal information as a result of an illegal intrusion on our systems. These malicious actions have also had an impact on your ability to enjoy the services provided by PlayStation Network and Qriocity including online gaming and online access to music, movies, sports and TV shows. We have a clear path to have PlayStation Network and Qriocity systems back online, and expect to restore some services within a week.

so what the hackers have got our user names, passwords and CC info. for ****s sake.

.....Awesome.

It's lame that they probably won't compensate PS+ users. I probably won't renew due to this. I'll also never be using my CC to purchase anything for PSN again. From this point on if I don't have a PSN card, I don't get whatever I want until I do.

sorry but this ridiculous, now that they have finally told us about this how long have they known our personal details are at risk

I don't fault Sony for getting hacked (even though at first they proclaimed to be "unhackable" and then called Anonymous' bluff) but I DO fault them for waiting this long to tell us that our personal info is at risk.

Waiting over a week to let us know is on them (Sony) and it's going to land them in hot water.

I wonder if people will still be butt hut over this at E3 that they boo the people on stage ?

if peoples money and identity get stole then yeah i say they will. though i do think e3 is back to being "pros" so they may not

Will changing my credit card number protect me from fraud?

I am scared out of my wits rights now! :waa:

Well... getting your information stolen, possibly your CC information is enough to be "********" over.

I mean, it's not like the "360 not getting an exclusive 360 character for MK" crap. Stolen info is a legit concern and Sony deserves to catch flack from their consumers.

But why would they have to compensate us for Plus? Everything that was supposed to be on the store this week will be on it when it goes up. We can get our discounts then. I am going to buying my stuff the Amazon from now on. Not going to go through the PSN store anymore.

You are assuming that they have known about this for a week. We have no idea what happened behind the scenes and when they found out.

I wonder if Sony is going to continue to say they are now unhackable after the update & after not being unhackable the first time
