And you know who would be amazing to see in an agent carter series? Madame hydra. I reckon the two of them would really belt the crap out of each other.

Plus, with the winter soldier reveal it would be even more interesting.

I know she appeared in the wolverine but she was called 'the viper' then so they might be able to share the character.

What do you think? If not, who would be a great foil for agent carter?

If there are only going to be 8-13 eps there won't be time for an arch enemy.

I think there'll be time. The movies are able to have an enemy in only 2 hours. My guess is that the enemy will be the Zodiac organization that they established in the One-Shot. Scorpio from that team has a strong connection to the early S.H.I.E.L.D. comics as Nick Fury's brother. I'm sure they'll change some things around, but my money's on Zodiac as the big bad of the series, with the HYDRA infiltration hinted at in the background.

Plus a lot of the bbc shows have 8-13 eps and they can do amazing things with archnemeses (the doctor and the master, gene hunt and Jim Keats from ashes to ashes)

I'd like Madame Hydra. I guess the question is how close they want to have HYDRA. I go with the idea that HYDRA should be both infiltrating SSR and the enemy to it. But, at the same time, it seems like something that should be almost secret. I suppose, since the show is right after the war, they could be portrayed as remnants (or copycats). I could even see Arnim Zola "proving" his new loyalty by helping them catch these HYDRA remnants (but only the low-level people, not the big bad).

But I do think Madame Hydra is the perfect choice for an archnemesis for Miss Carter. She's the kind of character who is big in the comics, but I don't see as likely to have a large role in a movie (if she wasn't in AC, she'd probably be in AoS). Plus, and I realize this is a very secondary concern and ultimately not all that important, depending on the story, but a female villain to rival the female main character would work well. The parallelism where the 1940s men doubt Agent Carter's skills could translate well into the shock at Mme. Hydra leading the bad guys as well.

The only problem with the Madame Hydra idea is that it certainly appeared that by 1946 that Hydra had been visibly destroyed so if Agent Carter encounters her, she can't ever be allowed to figure out that Madame Hydra is running a still active branch of Hydra. WE can know it, of course, but the incipient SHIELD cannot. If you want Madame Hydra to be revealed in all of her glory, it might be better for her to show up in AOS where she could be revealed to be running a still active "tentacle" of Hydra.

If you want a female nemesis for Carter, I believe that the Zodiac House of Virgo is always run by a woman.

What about the Hydra leader from the 60s comics before the organization expanded? He was a guy with a family, could be used as "scape boat" for Zola. I also see them humanising Zola a lot, either way, i think that the main villains should be Zodiac.

I hope it's Heinrich Zemo. I'd like to see the villain of Captain America 3's get set up through his father. You can't have Helmut Zemo without a massive amount of daddy issues.

There where some HYDRA remmenants that did not infiltrate SHIELD, but instead fled to Peru, and built the 084 weapon that we see on AOS. Perhaps Madame HYDRA could be leading these remmenants, After she and her group is destroyed, Agent Carter and the rest of SSR/SHIELD believe that HYDRA is no more, and that Zola has been redeemed. Little do they know though that..... ;)

How about, instead of an arch enemy as such, Peggy has an arch antagonist who isn't necessarily bad but whom she just doesn't get along with? That could be someone like Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, which would allow Marvel to introduce that character into the MCU.

That would be good but if you use the countess in the 1940s you probably couldn't use her in 2014-20 so if nick fury gets his own movie we wouldn't be able to see that relationship develop

That relationship was always between classic Nick Fury and the Contessa anyway. Fury in the MCU is the Ultimate version. I don't really see them developing that. Besides, Dum Dum Dugan was also in modern times alongside classic Nick Fury, but he's been relegated to the 1940s as well and can't appear alongside SLJ now.

I don't see them as being different characters to be honest.

Plus if you have white nick fury it would take the spotlight away from agent carter as she sets up shield

I'm not saying to have white Nick Fury in the series. I see him and Ultimate Fury as the same person too, but they're two very different characters, and I don't see SLJ hooking up with some Countess.

I was also making the point that if people want to see her alongside Fury, well Dum Dum should also be alongside Fury but he can't be now, because he's a 1940s character in the MCU.

It seems like in the MCU, the role of the original, WWII era Nick Fury is sort of being taken by Carter/Stark, in a way. Maybe Carter can invent 'Nick Fury' as an alias, which becomes a moniker for the director of shield later on...

100% not happening. Just a thought.

What about Sin(Sinthea Schmidt) Red Skull's daughter?

It's cool but it would kind of make agent carter feel like captain America Jnr. Line the real action and story happens in captain America and agent carter gets the leftovers. I hope they can do better than that.

Plus I want Cynthia to appear in the next captain America movie fighting Steve rogers

Incidentally if they did choose to use Madame Hydra, it wouldn't necessarily conflict with FOX and their rights over Viper. According to the Nick Fury vs SHIELD Madame Hydra is a title and there were varying levels. The Madame that appeared in that series was not Viper but another level

I believe that Viper is shared since she's part of the Captain America rights in the same way that Quicksilver is part of the Avengers rights and the Skrulls are part of the Hulk rights.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but Marvel needs to show that they're indeed producing a property that also needs certain characters for them to be shared. If Ms. Marvel gets a solo film, I'd expect the Shi'Ar to also start appearing in Marvel Studios films.

In that case her archnemeses should be the cast of mad men :)

Original villain confirmed! Agent Carter vs. The Glass Ceiling. :funny:
