Dont know if this was ever posted. Campbell on the Evil Dead 4 stuff.

“We’ve never said no,” Campbell said. “This movie doesn’t keep us from doing it, that’s the thing people have got to realize. This doesn’t say that we can’t make another ‘Evil Dead.’ This is a whole different series.”

“If they catch us on a good day, [we think] ‘Boy, we sure had fun on those movies,’” Campbell said. “Sam’s theory is, when he’s in the old director’s home and he can’t see anymore and I’m in the old actors home and I can’t remember lines anymore, that’s when we’ll do it. Maybe a little sooner.

“The beauty of it is nothing is precluding anybody from doing anything else on these movies,” he added. “We still could do it. Nobody has said no. But this will hold them for now.”
Also, Major Spoiler...
EW confirmed Bruce makes a cameo in the end credits. Have no idea if hes Ash or not. But Quint from ainitcool says the end credits def answers if its a remake or not.

Regardless, glad he makes an appearance.

It will be super cool if we see old Ash come back to modern time after the ending of Army of Darkness. Kinda like Robin Williams 's character in Jumanji.

I'd be cool with that  Would be pretty funny. I think I would be stoked and goen insane with any sort of Ash moment though haha.

They were hinting awhile back that somehow the Evil has lured in another bunch of victims in the same fate as before and that it might not even be a reboot.

Seems that way, alot of reviews and the Director are saying its not a reboot but a "rebirth" or some ****. Reading some crossover talk rumors as well. Interesting...

So it's pretty much in the same universe.

I kind of get what they mean lol

It's like a rebirth of the first film, same premise and everything. But it is in fact a sequel. A remake premise, but in the form of a sequel.

I was thinking that the book somehow transported Ash into an alternate universe and he appears to Jane Levy in the end lol

But I do I reckon it's the same continuity.

I noticed in BloodyDisgusting's review, they mention they heard a few comments about it being "fan service". Looking at Twitter accounts, no doubt one of those people are Devin from Badassdigest.

I guess this was another movie that was going to get screwed either way. Either it changed to much and people like him would have *****ed, or they kept it close to the first two films and then it gets called "fan service". Silly bloggers...

All reviews have been solid though, minus a few mixed. Worst complaint seems to be the first 20 min or so.

I'm just crossing my fingers that the sheep who have been flocking to the PA films go and see this. They need to see what a real and ballsy horror film is like.

I just can't take people who think the PA movies are good or scary seriously.

I also like how one of the reviews mentions to stay after the credits.

Agreed.

We need a mod to change the title of this thread. Just Evil Dead 2013 or something.

The entire AICN crew saw it at SXSW and not one negative review amongst them so far over there, which is shocking. They say this may be one of the few horror flicks where you actually don't root for the characters to die.

Since I saw the first trailer, I knew it was going to be something special. I said it right here :)

Seemed like an honest review. Expected more hate.

My expectations for the gore have been raised to an extremely high level after these reviews haha. Everyone made it seem this is the most graphic R film ever released.

Yeah, from everything I've been reading, I think it might just be the most graphic R rated movie.

I don't always agree with Devin, but he does write some good and as you said, honest reviews.

It'll probably be the best horror movie in a good while though.

I tried to watch the first Paranormal Activity a year or two ago after hearing how awesome they all are. I made it about 30 minutes and cut it off.

According to Raimi's Ghost House Pictures producing partner Rob Tapert, they were never talking about doing an Evil Dead 4 but actually doing a direct sequel to Army of Darkness.

"That would be Army of Darkness 2," Tapert corrected the earlier news story when we talked to him at the movie junket. "Everybody calls it Evil Dead 4 but Army of Darkness wasn't called Evil Dead anywhere except by the fans."

And how does Bruce Campbell feel about returning as Ash? At the same Q&A last night, the actor told the audience that he's fine if the younger actors take over the franchise allowing his three movies to stand alone and apart, but if the Raimis are writing a fourth installment of their series, wouldn't that mean it would have to revolve around his character Ash?

"Sam threatens this every six months," he told us during the same interview. "I've heard this a thousand times, because in the back of his mind, he never wants to let go, because he loved making these movies. We all loved making them together. They were a nightmare to make, very difficult, but they lasted the test of time, so he's not going to let that go, and I'm never going to say 'no.' It'll be me and a walker fighting some other old guy. But that's what he does and who knows? It may happen."

Most these reviews seem pretty darn positive. Only one thing I can say to that.

Just did some research online:

Bruce Campbell is the post-credit scene. Dunno what the scene entailed though.

If so that alone gives the movie 2 extra points. lol
