Evil Dead 4?

Yeah this looks awesome. While part of me will always want the Evil Dead series to revert back to the silliness of Army of Darkness and Ash vs. Evil Dead, I’m also fine with something absolutely horrifying and I hope this does the trick. It’s looking like it will.

While I am ecstatic for this film and cannot wait to see it, I am in the minority about this trailer. It just feels kinda....'eh' to me.

Jesus, the green band trailer is almost creepier than the red band.

The red band has the chees grater though....

I do find it interesting that the new cabin is more prominent in the red band than in the green band.

I just grabbed it this week as well as the Army Of Darkness 4K
I grabbed Evil Dead 2013 in 4k off of amazon right after I made that comment hahaha. I still need to grab the 4k edition of Army of Darkness though. I own Evil Dead 1 and 2 in 4k, but only got the shout factory blu ray edition of Darkness. Will probably grab the 4k at some point next month. I've been buying 4k's like crazy, and with Training Day as well as the Rocky boxset being announced, I gotta start picking and choosing for a little while haha.

Lee Cronin did a really bang-up job. You can expect to be very disturbed. It’s when mommies go bad. We dragged it out of the woods. We’re in an urban environment, which gives it a really gnarly feel. I think people are in for trouble. I feel sorry for audiences in advance!”

Campbell compares Evil Dead Rise‘s tone to that of Fede Álvarez’s 2013 Evil Dead reboot. “Both filmmakers are equally capable individuals, so they both really just spanked it. It’s not a yuk-fest. It’s not hardy-har-har. It’s not Ash shooting finger guns. This is real **** going down. These guys took it real seriously. Lee Cronin is Irish, and he brings kind of a European feel to this thing.”

He also praises the special effects work in the upcoming film. “No one will ever be able to make fun of the Evil Dead special effects ever again as long as I’m alive. They used to love to do that; cheese-ball effects, garden hoses spewing stuff. Well, you know what? Eat it, *****es, because this is good stuff you’re about to see!”

More than a mere vanity credit, Campbell was hands-on with Evil Dead Rise. “I spent a month and a half in Europe last year on the post-production and all the sound. We sort of split up our duties. I like to get involved in the casting and post-production. Rob Tapert oversees the production in New Zealand. And Sam Raimi’s the Great Poobah. He’s the orchestrator. He makes sure it fits the Evil Dead mold.”
