Bruce said that the crossover tweet was an april fools, BUT heavily hints that he success of Evil Dead Rise could lead to a crossover of all 3 characters including Ash. I have a feeling Raimi will direct if it does.

With the reviews praising Rise’s ability to pay homage to what came before while creating something new, I’d rather they avoid doing a crossover in the future. Keep bringing the deadites to new and interesting places.

I wouldn't get my hopes up guys about seeing Ash on the big screen again. Just came from a very fun and exciting Brucerama here in Richmond Virginia. During Q&A and before showing the original Evil Dead Bruce fielded questions for what seemed like almost an hour and someone asked him if he would ever play Ash again. He seemed pretty sincere when he said at 64 years of age he doesn't have the body for it anymore and doesn't plan on putting his body through that again. He did say there are talks about animated Evil Dead. Also told why the Ash vs Freddy and Jason never materialized. He said they did talk about it but after he said he wanted to get to kill Jason and Freddy Newline said Ash couldn't kill Jason or Freddy and neither him or Raimi would have any say or input over the script and they basically told New Line to shove it and it was a very short conversation. Also someone asked him what his favorite horror film of all time was and he said the Excorcist. Very fun evening and the entire crowd played a trivia game at the beginning of the event which was called last fan standing. The guy who won got a cool giant Necronomicon case filled with swag for Evil Dead Rise. Bruce is a great story teller and really funny and really knows how to joke with the audience.
