Exposed - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Where was Martha in this eppy? There's many scenes on the farm and an old friend comes to visit and she's not even around? Again, if someone has the time could they translate what Chloe and Lois were talking about in the first scene? Also, the last conversation b/w Clark and Lex?

There's two things that annoy the hell out of me is Clark's "I want to be normal" crap, his denial of his hertiage and now another thing that just became more annoying Clark defending Lex "My Friend"

No matter what they do, Clark always tries to see the good in ppl. It's part of his character. Plus Lex wasn't all that evil in this episode.

Lois' dance [or attempt at it, rather] was a hoot. Clark's facial expressions were hilarious.

I liked Clark in the suit and Lois in the dress on top of the Planet...Nice visual. Also liked the helicopter reference to the movie.

Another great episode?!?!?! What the hell happened to the writers over the summer? This episode was great, Dukes of Hazzard references, Superman the Movie references, Lethal Weapon 2 references (another Donner movie). Lovin' the season!

Whoa, I didnt even catch the Superman: The movie references until you guys mentioned it! The cable on the helicopter, Lois in the helicopter, Clark catching the helicopter with one hand...hehe, thats awesome.

The only problem I have with these Lois and guest-star centered episodes is they take away from the other characters. We haven't seen Lionel or Martha since Hidden.

Clark wore a cape when he did his super-jump to the helicopter. :D

TiVo, dog. A highly worthwhile investment.

See, this episode got across the major theme of the season: what it means to be a hero. And it did it a hundred times better than Aqua, all because it was subtle and not throwing it in our faces. Sure Lois dancing was a total joke (how experienced strip club members could be hooting after someone standing and not realize something is amiss still is beyond me). And where have a seen the lady that played Sawyer before? I could have sworn I saw her in some episode. The only thing that really bothered me about this episode (beside Chloe's half assed reporting, although I'm thinking the writers actually intended that to forshadow Lois and Clark), was Clark going back to Lex. Every goddamn episode he goes to him yelling at the guy and its really starting to annoy me. And is Lex actually old enough to run for Sentate? At most would be house of representatives.

State Senate. I didn't see anything in the Kansas State Constitution that mentioned an age requirement.

It was an awfully small cape.

Wow, that helicopter scene was terrible.

I agree on the Clark-Lex point. He always shows up ragging on him and then as soon as Lex does him a favor he's thanking him and being nice. No wonder Lex doesn't care so much for him anymore.

Good question--where WAS Martha? And, for that matter, where were Lana and Lionel?

(Ah well, Lana may have been recovering from her ordeal in "Thirst." Kristin can't be in every episode.) ;)

Here's my take:

The Good:

- The original "good ol' boys" reunited! The scenes with John Schneider and Tom Wopat were well-done, most notably the one with
Jonathan and the Senator in the car (and Bo Kent driving like a maniac :D )
.

- All three future reporters (Clark, Lois, and Chloe) in the Planet at one point or another.

- The helicopter scene at the end. The minute Chloe told Clark that there was a heliport (and Lois about to be taken away), he gave a very Superman-like glance above and then proceeds to take the copter down. (I thought for a moment he was going to do a shirt rip or something.)

- "The runner got caught in the cable"--nice nod to STM. And speaking of nods...

- With Clark, Chloe, and Lois in the club, I was reminded of the L&C episode "I've Got a Crush on You" (the one where the duo go undercover at a club), even though it was Chloe and Lois doing the UC work.

The Not-So-Good:

- No Lana, Martha, or Lionel.

I don't feel like writing a two page report on it, but I thought the episode was great. Two thumbs up :D!

I liked it, seeing Lois as as stripper was a plus :D and Clark sleep with a night light? *bemused* Supes afraid of the dark? :D

It's better than him being afriad of heights.

Lana was in Lincoln remember?

I know I read somewhere that Kristin did have to finish up filming for Partition (I think that's what it's called). As for Martha they never really said did they? I guess she was brewing up cow puchinos at the talon.

Lionel, well obviously he's keeping house at the fortress because he's suddenly not very interested in Lex's business anymore now is he?

I know I'm just saying that after four seasons don't you think things should change. Sooner or later he's going to see Lex's true colors and give up which was hinted in Onyx. After next weeks episode with the sliver kryptonite it could be a turning point but I fear it's just going to be another Pariah case with no continuity after that and I felt that Clark is disallusioned by his "friendship" with Lex, like Chloe said "you must really be kidding yourself".

I hated that they CONSTANTLY kept saying that Clark, Chloe, and Lois were minors.

Clark and Chloe are in college. That means they're PROBABLY at least 18. Isn't that legal age? Lois is older than both Clark and Chloe. She's legal.

Anyway, it was an alright episode, but there were SOME Dukes of Hazzard references that I didn't like. Lex's "good old boy" comment made me CRINGE. I half expected Wopat's charger to have the special honk.

You have to be 21 to be in a strip club.
