Exposed - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Hulk, you gotta admit that emotional range isn't necessarily Welling's strong spot...ESPECIALLY in the first season or so, which is likely where this image came from.

I wasnt even talking about Welling's acting credentials. My post solely about JcDc's quest just to annoy people here until he winds up getting banned....AGAIN

But yes I'd agree with you that Tom was a littl rough around the edges in Season 1. Since then he's come a long way...

He was, and I think he would be the first to admit it, but when you go back and watch season 1 it really fits to see him that way as his character was the bumblin kid so lacking in confidence at that time.

I think TPTB were probably aware of this and this contributed to their choice of casting him.

Just a thought.

Yet theones that bash someone for NOT liking an Episode after someone sa ys it are THE ONES THAT START THE FIGHTS. If you don't like someone NOTliking an Episode then **** most fights start off from USERS LIKE YOU who can NOT take any negatively about anything.

Who are you talking to? You really need to learn to QUOTE posts that you are responding to. If you are talking to Avid, then you are completely off-base and should apologize.

We have plenty of disagreements about episode specifics and in general here. The difference is when it's presented constructively and a small amount of civility.

Our standards are so low now. Do you really think small children should watch Lois do a pole dance and strip?? Do you think that's okay?? It's
not about her being overly "conservative". She's just trying to protect her children's innocence while it's appropriate to do so. Society is not helping parents these days. They're trying to take it away earlier and earlier.

Just look at that hyprite Maddonna. She now complains that there's too much filth on American TV!! Maddonna!! The Video ****e that corrupted the innocence of a generation of small girls. Now she's afraid that the sex monsters she created (the Brittanys & Christinas of the world) will grab hold of her 9 year-old daughter. Boy!! that's justice.

...why do you think they have tv show ratings for?? You can see them in the upper right or lefthand screen when the show starts. It's all about tolerence levels, over the years kids/young adults have been exposed to a loose-fit society. Its just the way things go...TV has been getting wild since the 60s...get over it.

American TV eh?? As opposed to the UK's topless news weather girls or Japan's orgasm game show contests???

After Clark realized what triggered the heat vision (in "Heat"), he told Jonathan that he could "now control it without thinking about sex [popcorn pops]."

I went back a few months ago and saw the Pilot again, and although he was a little rough, Tom did a fine job in that..... Hardly Al Pacino (I think was Pat's comparison actor) but he's a fine actor and has improved tremendously since then.

Transference and even Blank showed what he can do and I think next week's Splinter will be a real revelation.... His emotions will be all over the map and he'll show the naysayers what he's really got in the acting chops department.

His talent is vastly under rated and I think he'll show people what he can do.

funny he sort of bares more of a resemblance to another "someone" in tights..
Indeed! And that comparison has been made to that -other- someone's *current* appearance, more than once, and not by folks HERE!

Yeah, back yonder this place was far more accepting of a negative OPINION than most others.....like I said in another thread, it's reminding me more and more of it's (non)related forum to the south.

Maybe that could be the reason I don't post much here or there anymore.

Smallville comes on at 8 EST. Kids are up. Plus it's about "Superman" when he was young. What parent wouldn't naively let their kids watch a show about Superman?? After all, superheroes have always been considered a given in the "kid friendly" department! And who really understands those frikkin' rating symbols anyway??

and Madonna does let her kids watch any tV. Ha!!!

Smallville is the porno version of Superman. Kids shouldnt be watching it.

Exposed was mild to some of the things happening last season and even some of the stuff from season one and two...

The strip tease wasn't nearly as sexy as the ads woulda made you think.

I agree. People also seem to forget about Unsafe and Pariah from last season. He showcased some emotion we had never seen from him before, and he did an excellent job. The single tear at the end of Unsafe and his heartbroken reaction to Alicia's death. Those two episodes were the moments when I knew Welling had greatly improved his acting ability.

I think this place is just as accepting of negative opinion as any other forum. I think it's just the persistent trolling as of late that's driven some of the regulars up the wall. I'm the first to admit the show has flaws, and my reviews over at The Kingdom indicate that... I just take issue with the flame baiting and instigation that seems to come from the "Usual Suspects". If someone can think up something beyond "the show sucks" or "it's a bastardization" I'll welcome the discussion.

You should post more man. You always had good input and something interesting to say. It'd be a shame to see you leave because of some the trivialities that go on here on occassion.

Didnt Clark burn the crap out of that guy?

Did you forget about the TV show ratings that appear on the screen when the show starts??!! Just turn the channel!

And if kids wanna dance on a pole, I'd say it wasn't because of the TV...

jeesh...

Agreed! My first post/review about Exposed wasn't all peaches and cream. Hell, I even ripped into Welling. ME!!! Hello? LOL

So these recent accusations about this board not being tolerant of negative opinions is horse poop. Not being tolerant of trolls, yes. Negative opinions, no -- provided the poster isn't lambasting the show in Every. Single. Post. In those situations, you have to wonder about the real motivations behind the person posting, 'cause if you can't find *some* redeeming value in the show to comment on - and not make it a left-handed compliment (some people are EXPERTS at that tactic) - then you're just an annoyance at best, or a troll at worst.
