Ezra Miller IS the Flash

Yeah it takes away the spotlight on Grant but things will go back to normal within a week or two.

>Pedowitz said having a Flash TV series won't conflict with Warner Bros. and their plans for bringing the character to the big screen. Berlanti has cleared the potential series. "We're good to go. Greg [Berlanti] has spoken to them. There's no conflicts in any way shape or form," he said.

Notably, Erza is 22, placing him as younger than most of the League. That's a good play, I think. Between the younger Flash and older Batman, there's some variety on the team that should lend to some good dynamics.

WB had to announce this Miller as Flash to take a bit of the steam out of the RDJ in Cap 3 announcement. Have to say it worked cause this is all what we're taking about. Also funny because this guy is mostly an unknown. Someone is thinking at WB.

WB STEELS THE BALL AND SCORES!!!

Not the man I would have picked but since all I have to go on is Google image search, my opinion doesn't mean much. He's a lithe male actor, which is appropriate, and despite some effeminate pictures, should look fine when makeup and costuming are done with him. The important thing is the performance, and since I've never seen him in a film, that's really up in the air.

One thing I think is going to be challenging is the cowl. He has a very lean face, which I think would look really awkward in the traditionally thick cowls productions such as these produce. Maybe they'll take the opportunity to design something more formfitting, for once.
He is very good. Great range. Watching him play off of Batfleck should be a treat.

I'm not sure why announcing Miller as Flash in some way hurts the Flash show. I don't see it and as someone else has said it's not a smart movie to have this Grant guy also star in the movie just due to the uncertainty of the show's shelf life. It may run 7 seasons or it may run 2 or 3. Also I think trying to tie the JL in with the tv show just isn't wise. I don't want the movie verse beholden to what the TV show has set up about Barry.

Though we may be overreacting because we don't know if Miller is even going to be Allen. He may be West but he won't be Bart. Yeah I know it was reported by another site but WB has not confirmed which Flash they are going to use.

He's a really good actor from what I've seen. It's a good choice.

First LGBT actor to headline a potential superhero blockbuster. Kudos to Warner Bros! And congrats to Ezra Miller!!!

I'm not sure what some are expecting here? I can tell you all with a 100 percent certainty that Miller WILL NOT BE STYLING OR DOING THE LOOK FOR THE FLASH HIMSELF! Snyder and crew without a doubt is going to whip this kid into shape and he will have the right look, you can all trust that. I'm sure he's getting a trainer for the role to bulk up a bit. They aren't going to go the Cavill or Affleck or Momoa size for him but he's going to put on some weight cause right now he's way to lean.

Well this pic is much better of him and he looks more masculine. Also based off the other pics of him he most certainly dyes his hair black. It looks to growing out. He still won't be blondish cause his natural color is a darker brown but he's going to be fine.

Reports are out that say Miller is Allen.

That said, that could change between now and then.

Ok.......I'm talking about it taking the spotlight off of Grant for the moment, not it affecting the show.

...I fail to see how that's stupid. Can people not really suspend their belief that two actors can play the same role? Do we need to remove Hercules starring Kevin Sorbo from syndication because The Rock is playing him in the movie and we don't want people getting confused? They're fictional characters

Yeah I know that and I thought about it. WB has not announced which version he's going to play. All they announced was that Miller has been cast as the Flash for the JL film 1 & 2 and followed by his solo film. The independent sites are just reporting the announcement and giving a brief history of the character, which is Allen they are reporting on. Even with that being said it may be Allen after all, we just don't know yet. I'm leaning toward him being West.

The Flash movie comes out in 2018

The Flash show came out this year, it'll be in its 5th season by 2018

The movie Flash really won't be stealing Gustin's thunder

I got used to the cw Flash suit and i love it now, but i have a feeling that Snyder's Flash suit is going to be perfect looking. The big 3 are perfect already imo

It's no more stupid than, say, having a show called Agents of SHIELD, only to have SHIELD dismantled in CA2 during that show's first season.

He has the energy needed. He's charismatic. He's dynamic. He's a great actor.

And if they tone down his "Ezra-ness" in his look -- he can absolutely nail it.

Completely out-side-the-box casting and I think it's very exciting.

Having concurrent Barry Allens will be odd, but they've already done Smallville/Superman Returns so there's a precedent.

Hmm....not sure what to think about this. I have no problem with Ezra being gay or young or a new actor or anything else, just that as many others have pointed out the guy is better suited for Nightwing or Terry McGinnis.

I mean we have Henry who is Superman incarnate, Batfleck who looks closer to the comics or Arkham games Batman than any before him, Gal who is arguably what WW should look like considering her origin, Momoa who actually is very befitting the role of Aquaman and Ray Fisher who is pretty much straight up Cyborg.

And so all I was expecting is that the one superhero whose casting everyone is looking forward to would be a blond guy like the comics.

But it looks like the live action depictions of Flash will keep moving further and further away from the comics, where the current Barry on TV has dark brown hair and the new one is jet black. I feel the blond hair on Barry is a large part of his character and connects him to the golden lightning of the speed force better visually.

I'm not completely against this casting, just don't know what to think about it. I wonder if they will make Ezra blond.

I don't see how that's stupid. It's worth noting that brought out the best episodes of the entire season.

I'm glad WB isn't treating people like idiots who lack imagination.

One franchise being lead by an LBGT actor, a Wonder Woman franchise, Cyborg and possibly Green Lantern being franchises lead by African Americans (Plus Black Adam and Aquaman being played islanders).

For all the crap DC have gotten, they're being incredibly forward thinking and Suicide Squad and Cyborg getting their own movies is something we wouldn't have dreamed of even a year ago.

Exciting times.
