Endgame Falcon/Sam Wilson - Anthony Mackie

As someone who was a big fan of Bucky Cap in the comics from years ago it makes absolute sense for Sam to have inherited the shield over Bucky. If you look at the movies, Sam has always been honorable altruistic friend by Cap’s side. Bucky was a brainwashed assassin for all of WS and part of Civil War. Bucky’s done nothing to earn the shield in MCU’s continuity. If Steve had given it to Bucky at the end, i think we all would’ve immediately thought it was cool but then once we started thinking about it realized it made no sense for him to trump Sam and saw it as a poor story decision. Sam absolutely deserved it, the writers made the right call.

After all Bucky has been through it would be cruel of Steve to place the mantle on him when he is still in the process of defining who he is, still finding himself. Giving him the shield would deny him that. Sam is Sam, he knows who he is, and he is ready.
