Bethesda Fallout: New Vegas (PC, PS3, 360)

"Get out of here Stalker!" :cmad:

That reminds me, I really need to get Call of Pripyat.

Anywho, I know one guy who tried to play with hardcore mode and ended up nearly dying of dehydration and starvation. Apparently, on-screen indicators are too subtle for some people.

Does hardcore mode only make it authentic for you or does it actually make things more authentic overall, like if you shoot someone in the chest it only requires one round, instead of the need to keep pumping round into your opponent?

Occasionally the NPC's don't seem to mind if you pump crippling rounds into them, as long as you don't kill them.

In stalker as soon as you take a weapon in a friendly area or point it at an NPC, the NPC's points his gun at you and warns you.
In some cases NPC will take it from you or knock it from your hands.

They occasionally do stupid glitchy stuff as well, but it's generally far more convincing than fallouts AI behavior.

Unfortunately hardcore only impedes you .

How come the settings(Hud Color, Difficulty etc) cant be save upon exiting the game? I have to change my settings every time i start up the game.

It seems odd the 360 would be the buggiest as it was most likely the lead platform.
Aside a from a badly triggered quest line the only bug I have encountered is my companions occasionally disappearing when entering a new area. I fixed this with a mod that allows you to teleport them next to you, which probably should have been in the game to begin with.

So, I just beat Red Dead Redemption (finally) and jumped into Fallout New Vegas.

I was hopeful about it too, because of the patch update.

But...I don't know. I played a couple hours yesterday, and it froze on me 3 times, with this annoying hiccup of it freezing for 5 seconds as I'm walking in the mojave wasteland...and then continuing.

And still, I enjoyed the game.

The visors in FPS is sick.

About the Nexus one...they're testing it on the PS3??

I bought this game earlier this month for the PS3 and am 30+ hours in. It's definitely an improvement over Fallout 3 in terms of story and gameplay. I've created split saves to do all the end game options, I've done the NCR and Legion versions so far. Will do Mr. House next and then finish up with Yes Man (since that's the ending I'd want to take). I'm like level 25 right now and still have a lot to do.

That being said, **** this game and its increasing hard locks. I had a few scattered during my 30 hours, but the last like 10 hours have been filled with lockups, mostly on loading screens. I knew this game was beyond glitchy before I bought it, so I'm not surprised, but the fact that this game got through certification is ridiculous. Unfortunatly, once I see all the endings I think I'm going to trade it in, it's just not worth the hassle (despite how much fun the game is).

It's really kinda broken.

Which sucks, because the game itself is great. It's better than Fallout 3, of that much I am convinced. I found the New Vegas Medical Clinic (I think that's the name...) and the cybernetic implants is interesting because I could get other perks by buying some of those.

I don't know what it is, maybe it's wasteland fatigue, but I haven't been able to get into New Vegas. I mean I think it's better than 3 but I just can't sink the hours into it. Maybe I'll go on an apocalyptic wasteland kick at some point and jump back into the game.

I enjoy the atmosphere and location of FO3 TONS more. The gameplay mechanics added to NV are better though. It's more of a pick your poison kinda thing.

Yea I think that's exactly what it is. I don't care for the Vegas setting I guess. I'm in a wasteland, I don't reslly wanna visit a mecca of consumerism.

XBL has a half-off sale for Dead Money, today only.

Agreed. Gameplay and story in NV is better... however the radio stations and over all setting of FO3 is tons better than NV.

I could listen to Butcher Pete all day.
