It looks like virtually all the fans that saw the footage at WW unanimously agree this movie will be bad-ass. We're talking about hundreds of fanboys with virtually all of them loving the footage. Now, with people posting descriptions, a lot of online fans are changing their minds about the movie.

I think it's kind of funny that certain fans on certain boards were complaining like crazy, especially comic fans, and saying the Joker in this movie would not do the comic character justice. A select few continue to complain and be negative about the movie.

I honestly believe that the harshest of critics and fanboys will be eating their words come July 2008 when the movie comes out. I think this will definitely be the best Batman movie ever made, and a better movie than Begins.

The Joker taking down the Bat signal with an axe, walking on a street with an automatic and flames around him, Joker laughing while getting beat up, Bruce/Batman being frustrated and confused by all the chaos, plus getting to see a glimpse of Two-Face. This is the stuff of dreams for Bat fans and comic fans alike.

I also believe this will not only be easily the best on-screen portrayal of the Joker, it may be the best portrayal of Joker *period* on any medium, film or paper. This Joker could also likely be one of the best movie villians ever seen on screen.

People fearful of clowns will truly be horrified by this film, and those who think nothing of clowns will likely be afraid of them after watching this movie.

wait....Joker taking down the batsignal with an axe? This is news to me.

Yes, but the Joker isn't there to horrify. He's there to disturb. Maybe, he'll horrify a few people with his actions, but he's not there to look like some unkept freak.

Yeah... it was in one of the extended descriptions and confirmed by the people who were there. They said you see "someone" smashing the bat signal with an axe but it's not obvious who.

Here on this page of the WW thread:

Several users confirm this was part of the footage.

We know the characterization of what the Joker is supposed to be, and we can assume the "look" that Nolan is trying to portray, but if you're fearful of clowns, and you see Ledger on-screen laughing hysterically with a red scarred smile, messy green hair, black eyes, and makeup running down and being messy on his face, then you'll likely be horrified.

Christian Bale a while back mentioned in an interview that some people could be fearful of clowns after seeing the movie.
EDIT: "coulrophobia" is the exact word Bale used in the interview.

well said, and whole-heartedly agrred. :woot:

Did someone say footage? WHERE??? IS IT ON YOUTUBE?

explode7 for the fifth and final time, there was no footage leaked, all he had was a youtube link to the fresh prince of bel-air

To summarize the opening post: "TDK will be the best movie ever and anyone who disagrees with me is stupid."

I think for those that say this movie wont be showing the "true" (image wize) well have to see the movie to get what the rest of us all see and know (in terms of how he'll be the same with just make up)

Any way this movie will blow a lot of minds, just like how begins did for the general public that didnt know anything about batman.

I think your avatar pretty much sums up your response.

You're misinterpreting my post in a silly way.

Re-read what I said.

I said that I believe this will be the best Batman movie ever made, not the best movie overall ever made.

Harvey has access to the roof.

Mop... you've got 7 posts so you haven't been here long. Cconn is... well... he's Cconn. He got a certain air of... Cconn-ness about him that you'll just have to get used to if you want to survive around here. :p

And Harvey is a little crazy, but no one really knows this except his other half.

Funny, you didn't correct the part where I said you called everyone who disagrees with you stupid. :o

I know, I was exaggerated.

Personally, I haven't the faintest clue why you felt the need to create this thread at all. As you said, the very large majority absolutely love what they've seen of TDK, so why on earth are you - and a lot of others - SO concerned with the few who don't worship the film?

It's like you can't stand that there's even one person in the world who doesn't love TDK, and you're just...compelled to constantly prove them wrong and talk about how they'll be proven wrong.

Why on earth do you need your own appreciation of TDK to be validated by everyone? Why on earth can't you just enjoy it on its own merits and not even worry about the people who don't?

I just don't understand this...obsession with every new Batman movie being proclaimed the best Batman movie by every.

Harvey has access to the roof.

I doubt it's Harvey. Plus several people who saw the footage all mention that they distinctly saw Joker taking the axe to the signal. Now I haven't seen the footage, but basing on what multiple users have confirmed, I am going with the idea it was Joker not Harvey.

That's your biggest problem right there, carrying what fanboys think.

The general public has embraced this version of Batman so I expect it to do very well in the BO. Not Spiderman numbers, but enough to get a third installment with no problem.

Fanboys will always complain about something. Its simply the inherent nature of the fanboy. Similar to those spoiled princesses on mtv's sweet sixteen who complain that their $75,000 BMWs aren't good enough when they have no clue about what it takes to actually earn one.

Do you like what you hear? If so, be of good cheer and forget about the fanboys. Like I've said before, you can't expect everyone to praise the Mona Lisa.

Exactly.

They'll always be someone who isn't a fan of something. There's people who don't like The Godfather, and Goodfellas, and Citizen Kane, but that doesn't cheapen or diminish the quality of those films for the people who do like them...the majority of people.
