It would have been set on a random island with dinosaurs. They wanted the Savage Land setting, but they didn't have the rights.

It would've been amazing. Especially if Jonah Hill was Sandman.

Do Marvel or Fox own the Savage Land? I'm not sure since it's most associated with the X-Men.

And that is a terrible idea for a movie. I'm so glad that Avi Arad is nowhere near Spider-Man anymore.

According to Sony, Marvel has it. Also, Marvel had plans for a Ka-Zar movie back in the early days of the studio.

Jurassic World had positive WOM dating back to December. FF hasn't had that luxury; in fact it has had quite the opposite.

I'd also like to point out that Jurassic World was--and remains--just a touch away from being registered as "rotten" on Rotten Tomatoes. It was never certified Fresh at 70%. So it had mixed reviews. I personally thought it was great. The critics? More than 25% of them thought it sucked.

I wonder what Dwight Howard and Ludacris saw in this movie that they liked?

I can't believe somebody posted Dwight Howard's tweet as if it means ****. It means Dwight Howard liked the film and nothing else.

OMG Lebron James liked my Apple Pie recipe, that means that it's the best recipe in the universe! :awesome:

Does Marvel have the rights back yet?
P.S. I hope the movie succeeds, but I have my doubts.

You're laughing about it, but Drew Goddard's Sinister Six movie would've been set in the Savage Land and have skyscrapper-sized Sandman fighting a T-Rex.

O_o wtf? We're they really going to do that?

They were. Goddard's pitch was comedy-oriented. It's actually humorous seeing the whiplash between the actors they suggested for all the lead roles.

I am relieved to know I won't have to sit thru a movie that the lead actor thinks will be highly regarded.

It was one of many, many plans, but as Goddards's Sinister Six actually had a date it's likely what they would have pulled the trigger on. Other ideas they had were an ASM midquel featuring Kraven and "Ultimate" Goblin that would have set up the opening of ASM2, a reboot featuring an older Spidey and Kraven as the villain, and various ASM3 ideas that may have drawn from the Clone Saga.

Really? The Clone Saga? The storyline which can only ever be adapted on TV? There is no way you can fit all of the Clone Saga into a two hour film.

It would have been Ultimate Clone Saga influenced, too, at least in some pitches (one producer was actually talking the possibility of Emma Stone as Carnage). Even that pitch for an ASM midquel was intended to launch a massive mega franchise that would have included Scarlet Spider.

*cough* er, Fantastic Four...

I hear Korea's getting a rap theme song from some Korean rapper.

I listened to a good amount of the Fatman podcasts with Josh Trank and he honestly comes off as pretty cool. Clearly loves movies and just seems chill.

Oh, and I guess they did change the Thing's voice.

does trank just reply to random people on twitter talking about the movie?

oh man, I smell a huge social media breakdown from Trank if this movie falls flat

It seemed like he took the time to reply back to many people today. Guess he made some Twitter buddies today. :o

A reminder......Kelly has this stickered in this forum......

We have had over the past few months an enormous amount of arguing between those that are excited for this movie and those that are not.

The Hype is a place for ENJOYMENT for everyone, whether there is a difference of opinions or not.

This particular forum has not been a place of enjoyment, at all.

So, in light of this, there is now a thread SPECIFICALLY FOR those that are not happy with what they have seen and heard about the upcoming Fantastic Four Movie. That is their thread to make their petition known that they are not happy. If you are one of those people that is very excited for this movie, THAT IS NOT YOUR THREAD.

As for the rest of the forum, it is open for discussion of the movie, as long as

1. It stays a discussion about the movie, cast, etc.
2. If you have a strong opinion that is on the negative side, it would probably fit much better in the FFINO Zone thread, lets take it there. This is not to say that this is the ONLY negative thread, opinions can be posted in any thread, but if the opinion is a joke, rights going back to Marvel, or any of the things below...it needs to stay in the FFINO Thread. Negative opinions are perfectly fine, not everyone is going to like this movie, but if they disrupt the flow of the thread then they will be removed.
3. I do not want to see any arguments over Foxverse vs. MCU, DC vs. Marvel, who is a troll and who isn't, who is a true fan and who isn't...all of these arguments have derailed EVERY thread in this forum and that will stop.

If there is a problem with any of these rules and they are not adhered to, that poster will receive a 3 week vacation from the hype.

Enjoy your day!

Kelly

He could simply be disputing that Bell's voice sounds like a child.

I personally feel the same way when anyone's opinion is posted second hand. As if it means something and all that jazz.
We do what we do however in the time leading up to release, and post in some cases.

Yeah he does seem cool and he's got interesting story.

Fox must be picking up marketing. I saw the commercial like six times tonight and there are billboards across the LA Market.
