Fox must be picking up marketing. I saw the commercial like six times tonight and there are billboards across the LA Market.

Well they kind of have to. Less than a week before the premiere, and there's still lots not aware and not interested.

I've seen a lot of TV ads lately and I usually don't open TV a lot.

Also, I've seen 3 different posters at 2 malls last Saturday.

i find it weird that chronicle was only 85 minutes long but it never felt too short to me. i wonder if i'll have the same feeling after this film.
The structure of Chronicle fits the medium. It is found footage, and while it takes more then a few liberties, it is a very simple story that covers a large amount of time in rather short order. It does this because it can "skip" about, because it is found footage and what matters are the major story beats.

According to Sony, Marvel has it. Also, Marvel had plans for a Ka-Zar movie back in the early days of the studio.

Wow. Looks like there's even more incentive for Fox to merge their X-Men universe with the MCU in the near future. That or Fox should trade the Shi'Ar and Brood for the Savage Land (I'd also include the Negative Zone, Kang and Uatu but we all know that FF is going to bomb and the rights will revert) since Marvel want cosmic stuff and the Savage Land is more associated with the X-Men than the Avengers.

All I ask for is for Fox to play ball with Disney. If they could work together to split the profits on Lincoln and build an Avatar theme park, then there's no reason why they can't work out some sort of deal, even if it's just TV rights for 100% of merch profits.

Wrong. We know that it might bomb and if it does they might trade the rights or keep them until the next deadline if Disney doesn't play ball with them

Seeing this movie tomorrow at 8PM so Ill post a quick opinion of this once I'm out of the film. Anyone else seeing it early?

Its screening all around the UK at Cineworld cinemas. There is no embargo for me so I can post away with spoilers. Gotta work out how to use these spoiler tabs!

You write the word spoiler and put them in [ ] brackets and the last spoiler word you add / to it. so spoiler [] <-- inside that and [/] for the last one.

Go to advance. There is an actual button to use spoilers.

Ah! So obvious now. Thanks. Sorry but I never post spoilers for Movies I see early but thought I may as well for this one.

or you can just type the following (delete the asterisk):

[spoiler*] [/spoiler*]

Also use the "preview post" button so you be sure the tags are done properly before hitting "submit reply".

I assume everyone has seen this already but I read it this morning and my jaw dropped:

Critics have not been given the chance to see the film ahead of its release, which is often seen as a sign that bad reviews are to be expected.

Asked if he wants to prove the critics wrong, Teller said: "We haven't seen the film either. Rarely are films of this size critically well-received.

"This is not a movie we're going to go on (review website) Rotten Tomatoes and it's going to be at 80 or 90%."

Now, Miles, that's a damn lie.

um, there's plenty of comic book movies of a huge size that have 80-90% reviews on RT.

That's just bull****

Just a handful of examples:

Iron-Man: 94%
The Dark Knight: 94%
Superman: 93%
Spider-Man 2: 93%
The Avengers: 92%
Superman II: 89%
Spider-Man: 89%
X-Men First Class: 87%
TDKR: 87%
X-Men 2: 86%
Batman Begins: 85%
The Crow: 82%
Hellboy: 81%
X-Men: 81%
Batman Returns: 80%

Probably worth making a separate spoiler thread just for those who specifically want to discuss them.

A few more:

Guardians of the Galaxy 91%
Captain America: The Winter Soldier 89%
X-Men: Days of Future Past 91%

These flicks can break the 80% or more mark just fine Mr. Teller.

I think what is more damning from Teller's comments is less the ignorance that exudes from it, but rather an indirect means of conveying he has no faith in the movie he is starring in.

Pretty much. I find it hard believe he'd say something that down in the mouth about the movie if he had genuine faith. At least I'm not aware of people talking down or saying anything but positive things about a movie before release if they actually believed it would perform well.

Trank's tweets will be more entertaining than his movie.

I really don't see the harm in Miles' comments, even if the movie ends up on 70-80% let's just see what are on that list:
The Wolverine
Iron Man 2
Dredd
Kick-Ass
Ant-Man
Amazing Spider-Man
Thor 1
Avengers 2
Captain America 1
Red
Wanted
Adventures of Tin Tin
V for Vendetta
Superman Returns
Sin City

2 movies that came this year and had a similiar budget but bigger star names. A lot of movies people here are listing with over 80% are also sequels or have big name directors.

But Ultimately Miles Teller can be wrong and we get FF with a beautiful 80-90% and it will surprise him but also many others. ;)

He is clearly making an excuse. That is the problem. If he had complete faith in it, it wouldn't be necessary.

I think this is the case: If Miles Teller had said the generic thing everyone says on talk shows such as "yeah the movie is good, go see it!" people could see it as a poor attempt at promoting a movie, now the man is being honest and saying "yeah, it might not get a 80-90 score" so now he's making excuses? I disagree with that but I won't hold it againts anybody and everyone here is entitled to their own opinions. The embargo is going to be lifted in a few days and it might surprise everyone or be very obvious. =P

I think the movie totally can be on the 80-90 meter, just like X-Men First Class.

You're just making up excuses for him now. Who cares what people here or elsewhere may or may not have said to if he had said something positive? It's irrelevant to the the point and has no impact on him as he'd never hear it. The point is he did say the movie may not be received well. Generally no one looking forward to a movie's release tend to say something like that.
