Fast and Furious 6 Is A Go - Part 1

QUESTION

I have never seen any of the F&F movies. Can I watch this without getting confused? I know the story isn't that complicated, but I really want to enjoy this movie.

I would say watch Fast 1, 2, 4, 5 at least.

The first movie introduces you to Dom, Bryan, Mia, Letty and their relationship.

The second movie (even though it get a lot of un warranted hate) introduces Tyreese's character Roman and Luda's character. Other than that it also stars Bryan who's character is a little more street which is a turn off for some (doesn't bother me).

The third movie Tokyo drift is really just a side story that has nothing to do with the main cast. All you really need to know in the third movie/ Tokyo Drift is that

Han dies and Vin's character Dom makes a cameo appearance at the end of the movie.

. I know that is old news to fans but I didn't want to spoil it for ya if you wanted to watch the movies fresh.

Fast Four is important as it reunites the characters from Fast 1 and leads into Fast Five.

Fast Five brings together mostly every character from pervious movies for one awesome movie (like the Avengers). This is widely considered the best Fast and Furious movie to date.

You find out not just how Han is actually killed but also another reason why Dom shows up at the end of 3.

I assume 7 will tie into a parallel storyline with 3.

That's what I wonder about. In FF3, Dom says he's got "nothing but time", which makes me think

that race is AFTER the events of FF7. There's some speculation that the race occurs during, and he recruits Lucas Black to go after Shaw, but that line makes it seem like there isn't a sense of urgency on Dom's part, even though there's someone out to get him.

Why would Han be struggling for money in Tokyo Drift if he got 11 million in Fast 5? Plus where is Giselle in Tokyo Drift if it's been retconned?

I guess they didn't want to recon Tokyo drift so they are now trying to have it connect to the main entries in the franchise in some way. Still it has a plot hole because Gisele is not in TD and Han is in a relationship with her. Unless they break up or she gets killed in Fast 6 ( which I doubt she dies).

I haven't seen the movie yet BUT!!!

I saw Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and the other 2 actors from the movie! and it was awesome! They went to my country for a mall tour and it was just fun!

I'm guessing he was stealing just to steal and see if he could get away with it. Some people just like the rush.

Remember he told Sean that he didn't care when he wrecked his car so money isn't an issue for him.

they've all pretty much spent their money by the time Fast 6 starts. And whatever they have left is spent buying new cars and tech to go after Shaw.

It is kinda crazy that each character has blown through their share of money that quickly. I assume Fast 6 takes place a few months after Fast 5? But then gain, Hobs (Rock) makes a comment in the trailer to Dom saying "This is what 11 million buys" or something along those lines when he is at his house.

Also I downloaded the official game on my iphone 5 (its a free download) and I think it kinda spoils some things in the story (haven't seen the movie as it hasn't come out in the States yet). Just a heads up for anyone that downloads it. But gameplay wise its okay for a free game nothing spectacular and there are better racers out there but is decent. The in app purchases are annoying though ha.

Also - keep in mind that Dom donated quite a bit of money to Nico and Vince's wife and may / may not have been continuing to give them money as they needed it.

The long of the short is - that while they did get a whole load of cash in Fast 5 - there's a lot of circumstances they're all stuck in, all the while being short minded and impulsive with their spending habits. It's definitely not inconceivable that they've each blown through the majority of their money.

Saw the movie earlier today.... Bar a couple of niggly points for me... I had great fun watching this.
