I mean, it's a natural progression if you really think about it.

I said it earlier, it baffles me how the same group goes from boy racers to an ultra elite military special forces squadron. The only thing left for them to do is explore space. I can see Vin Diesel wearing a sleeveless captains shirt on the deck of Starship Enterprise giving his speech about family...........

Well finally saw this. I enjoyed it pretty much. I have enjoyed most of these. Couple of points:

-I found everyone pretty much passable. Ludacris, Natalie Emmanuel, Vin diesel, and Michelle Rodriguez did everything they normally do. Tyrese had some funny moments when he wasn't yelling and the Dwayne Johnson was fun.

-the standout performance for the film was Jason Statham. The best action scene of the film was his and it was also the most humorous. Without Paul walker, the rock and Statham have taken over this franchise. It's funny that he was once thought of as a Steven Segall b action movie star. I think he's on a Keanu reeves Tom cruise level.

-Charlize was okay as a villain. I'm not sure I really need to see her character again.

-this series has a bad habit of making bad guys into good guys. I know Cypher was manipulating the Shaws and that's what caused Deckard to kill han. But address that please.

-I hated that Charlize was able to escape so easy. So overly convenient that there was a door right there and he just ran out of bullets jeez.

Probably by next weekend, I think this Sunday will finish with 1.145B for F8 and 1.155B for BatB. Then BO from Japan will make BatB this year No 1 again till December.

Oh well I'lll have to eat my words, last week (from Monday 8 to Sunday 14) F8 made 23M while BatB made 15M and F8 will definitely drop faster than BatB. It won't pass BatB even by next weekend and in the next weekend after that it will probably even make less than BatB. In short it'll never have a chance to pass BatB's worldwide BO.

I found this movie to be horribly bad.

Deckard who was established as a "Bad guy" not just a bad guy but a I will kill any Mo-fo in front of me. How many people did he kill at that hospital in his opening scene in 7 ? He killed Han, tried to kill Paul, his wife and their kid with a bomb, tried to kill Dom. Now he is a good guy and all is forgiven.

The Rock, as much as I like the Rock, no one punches metal and makes a dent, or destroys guys like he was doing in this one, if so why did he have any issue laying the smack down on Dom before.

The "controlled" cars.. not so many with that precision.

Big ol' subs cant surface and dive (repeat) that fast. Not that I am a sub expert but it just makes sense.

Ya it could be worse, but this one was on a whole other level of

I mean the only thing that can top it is that they fight Aliens on another planet... oh why not.. let them just get together with the Transformers movies and they can drive the Autobots around on Unicron's head.

BatB will win the race. If I'm not wrong Beast still has some steam left in Japan which means it'll easily beat F8 for the WW crown in 2017 so far.

I'll eat crow as well because I thought this was gonna top out at 1.1 Billion.

I thought it was definitely going to catch BatB. Not a lot of domestic gas in either movie, though BatB hits home video June 6th, so it might cost itself a couple million there. So I guess it will be international numbers that shape the battle. This really could come down to a couple of million though.

Whoa, so this just came out on digital today and I saw that there is apparently an "Extended Director's Cut" for this. Now, there have been extended editions before but to my knowledge, the changes were incredibly minuscule and never resulted in more than 2 minutes, tops, of footage. This thing has an additional 13 minutes apparently (judging from the run time between the extended cut and the theatrical).

I just watched this. Only the second movie in the franchise I haven't seen in theatres. Ironically and unintentionally both without Paul Walker in it. Having said that I'm also surprised how so many conflicts were overlooked. One being what Symbiotic posted above and the other regarding Shaw. Frustrating that they brought everyone back except Sean. Not to mention the crappy attempt to have Scott Eastwood's character not so subtly replace Brian.

Why are they pissed about that though? He was with Elena when he thought Letty was dead. It's not like he cheated or anything. Hell, he left her when he saw that Letty was still alive.

That was definitely a cop out. I knew that would happen the moment they showed her in that situation and she delivered that line. Kind of wish we had seen a scene play out with Letty where she finds out. I mean they were all shocked he turned on them but didn't seem at all curious what was being used against him to get him to turn rogue.

Also, what on earth was up with the self driving cars? They screwed that up royally by using old cars that have no such system.
