Fast and Furious 6 Is A Go

This must be the first time that Jason turned down a movie. It at least feels like it

It's pretty amazing, really. This is the guy who has starred in the crappy Mechanic remake, Transporter 2 (one of the worst movies of all time), The Expendables 1 & 2, and most recently, a rip-off of Mercury Rising (the most forgettable Bruce Willis action movie ever made).

Yet a surefire hit from a proven series, and he turns it down. Wow.

The Crank films are awesome, don't be silly.

It is strange though, it must be scheduling conflicts or some other reason. I can't see him just turning his nose up at a film like this.

I hate Statham so happy with that!

Not to mention "Crank" where he sticks jumper cables into his mouth

The CGI action sequences were ridiculous and so was the euro trash.

The car barrel rolling through the air to detach the bomb took the cake.

Yeah. I was just telling a friend about that awful scene the other day.

I was done with the movie when that happened. That was pretty much the point of no return. When an action scene that stupid with CGI THAT obvious happens at the beginning of a movie, you just know it's a turd.

At least Gone in 60 Seconds saved the cartoon Evel Knievel car jump stunt until the end.

To be fair though, Transpooper 2 also had that AWESOME cartoon plane crash at the end. That was the fakest looking thing I've ever seen. It looked something out of a Super Nintendo game.

I had to remind myself of that bad CGI scene where the Audi makes perfect jump from one parking garage to the next.

Even the fast and furious franchise never had anything that ridiculous.

Aside from warp speed NOS scenes and this scene from part 4

Haha, yeah I forgot about that partking garage jump thing. Isn't there a scene right after that where he's driving on rooftops? F*** that movie was a piece of sh**.

I never bothered seeing the third one.

statham turning the gig down might actually improve the film. the team is big enough and unless some aren't coming back or are dying, i like the team as it is. i mean i pretty much expect at least a Mendez cameo in the next flick per the scene post credits so theres another one anyways

the franchise has been succesful without big name baddies in the past, so why break it? i mean, the biggest villain i can remember by name they've gone up against is Cole Hauser.

I agree. Dwayne Johnson was a big enough name that they don't need any more big names. They have The Rock and Vin Diesel. This isn't The Expendables. The current cast is fine.

Adding a big name villain lends a different flavour to the film. The reason Fast Five was so successful was that the team finally had a worthy antagonist in Dwayne. That being said, Statham turning it down could lead to someone like Scott Adkins getting a big break.

Yeah there are plenty of other names they can go for other than Statham

They must be careful in casting a physical opponent. Doesn't need to be a big name Statham/Schwarzenegger/Stallone/Willis action star but you need to believe whoever is cast can go toe to toe with Dom and Hobbs.

Then again, I can't imagine anyone known for playing tough guys wanting to play second fiddle to Paul Walker.

Was Statham in talks to play the bad guy? Or another member of the team?

I just remembered the only time I've ever seen Statham play a villain. Cellular. Yet another movie that was a total turd.

Anyway, I don't care if the villain is a name actor, I just want a GOOD villain. That's the one thing the series has lacked. The guy who played the big bad in Fast Five is a good actor but he really wasn't in it enough to make much of an impact. And his henchman guy just looked like an insecure little b**ch every time he was onscreen.

It'd be really lame to have Statham, Diesel and The Rock in the same film and not have them kicking each others asses.

My friend jokingly suggested Steven Seagal as the replacement. An ex-CIA agent turned environmental awareness manager seeks revenge after his wife was killed in Brazil by a stray bank vault.

:funny: They could keep the environmental angle and have him as a green extremist hunting Diesel and Walker over all the damage their cars do to the Ozone!

:funny:

Further discussions led to Fast Ocean's For Justice.

The fallout between two competing heist crews, unknowingly trying to rob the same Las Vegas casino vault, leaves an innocent woman dead. Ex-CIA agent turned environmentally themed children's author, Augustus Task must revert to his violent ways.... for justice!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Christoph Waltz for a European villain. And he did The Green Hornet, so he's not above Fast. Actually, heck. Dare I say it? Tom Hardy.

Let's have Michael Caine too and ask him to dye his hair jet black

;)

I refuse to believe that Jason Statham turned down the role because he will play in anything.
