Fast and Furious 6 Is A Go

I never said he didn't have charisma. I don't know why people think having charisma makes you a good actor. I don't know how that has anything to do with quality. Johnny Knoxville, Ashton Kutcher, Sean William Scott, Nick Cannon...those guys have charisma. There are also good/great actors who just ooze charisma like Bill Murray, Robert Downey Jr, Paul Rudd just to name a few. Having charisma just means you love doing what you are doing and it shows. That's fine, I can't knock the man for loving his job. That just doesn't mean he is doing a great job.

It seems you and I are disagreeing on the point of him being a good actor or not. I think he is along with the charisma. He has range where he can deliver lines meant to be funny or dramatic/serious.

He was over the top in Fast Five and it was intentional, everything about him was meant to be big.

If you've never seen Faster, that is the one to watch where you see his range.

Michelle Rodriguez is looking fine in that pic.

Bump for the new page.

Check back TOMORROW for the release of the 3-minute EXTENDED TRAILER!

My friends give me a lot of **** for my love of this franchise. To Hell with them. I genuinely like the F&F franchise. Bring on #6!!!!

BTW just noticed that Perd Haply from Parks and Rec is in Fast Five

I really don't get what was so good about Faster, I thought it was a mediocre DTV level Seagal film.

i can't wait for this movie. i'll probably be there at midnight like the last one

Gridiron Gang as well.

Oh, man, wait until Kane sees this. :funny:

Well Hunter isn't a fan of the Rock so it's understandable for him not knowing how awesome that film is. :o

and yes Parker, I still stand behind the fact that it's far better than Drive. :argh:

:lmao: I liked Welcome to the Jungle and Fast Five a lot, I don't mind him as an actor, but Faster was the kind of second string turd JCVD used to knock out in a bad patch.

Well I wasn't huge fan of Drive either. :D

Highly disagree, for me it was like a cross between 84' Terminator and a hard boiled noir. One of the many reasons why that worked for me was Rock's performance and Clint Mansell's score.

Me too man. Faster is the movie Drive thinks it was. Agreed on it being like The Terminator mixed with Neo Noir (Mixed with a bit of acid western).

Or he just likes the Han character being that it was his creation, hell Han was in one of Lin's movies before he took on the F&F franchise.

I never said he didn't man. Obviously he does since he keeps working Han into the plot and now all his F&F movies are being set before Tokyo Drift just to keep Han in the story.

Can't agree with that. Charisma (and on-screen charisma, different thing) is something you're born with. No matter how much you love your job, if you don't have it, you don't have it.

I have seen a lot of these people in here bashing dumb movies for being dumb movies (Transformers) and they are now defending a dumb movie actor because he has charisma???

Completely different. There is such a thing as honesty in movies. Fast 4, 5 and 6 (from what I've seen) seem to be honest with themselves and the audiences, whereas the TF films weren't. Also, Lin knows how to do (ridiculous) action, Bay doesn't. Yes, yes, imo.

The Rock is the next Ahnold whoever said that in here. Ahnold is not a good actor at all. Again, his best movie is the one where he played an emotionless robot. The Rock is the same... his filmography is terrible.

I said that. But you need to look at the films Arnie made, and the films the Rock makes. They're either actioners or comedies. It's totally a matter of taste, of course, but I'd argue that both did well in their better movies, whatever genre they belonged to. Yes, The Rock isn't a great actor, but I think he's perfectly suitable for the movies he's chosen to do. If you don't like those, that's another matter entirely, one I won't argue. But Arnie didn't try to transcend any genre (IIRC), and neither does The Rock.

So lemme just get this straight:

Part 4 is called 'Fast & Furious' but Part 6 is called "Fast & The Furious 6" even though Part 5 was simply called 'Fast Five', never mind the confusion that Part 1 was called 'The Fast & The Furious'.

Right?

And yes, I also got a headache reading that.

I've seen all these movies except the fourth one. Is the fourth one any good? How would someone who has seen all five so far rate the fourth?

As for the acting skills debate. I don't think most people go to see Fast and Furious films for the acting so it doesn't really matter. Its Point Break or Ocean's Eleven with car chases and fist fighting.

I find the 4th one pretty bad. I don't mind them making it a more serious story since its about revenge. But bad dialogue delivered by bad actors just kill it. The opening heist and race are decent, disregarding the CGI. However the the tunnel sequences are too CGI, takes you out of it a lot of times.

I just dislike 2 and 3 so much that 4 is by default middle of the road for me.

I think any Die Hard sequels should look at the 'Fast and Furious' saga and take notes in how to keep it fun, fresh, and innovative.
