It isn't a sci fi movie.....yet. Dom and the crew have yet to fight Zombies, aliens, Nazis, clones of Keanu Reeves, cowboys, ninjas and dinosaurs.

Eh they do not. Also, there aren't really roads in space/other planets for them to drive their fancy cars. If there's going to be a cross over, it would be with action movie franchise that Universal Pictures own and I can only think of one which is Bourne.

Vin Diesel not ending up in a hospital after his fight with The Rock is pretty sci-fi. Also I believe he’s an Android, based on his acting and his artificiality.
