Fast and the Furious 9: The Fast Saga

It’s funny that some of the main actors in this franchise have played characters outside of it that could fit right in.

Diesel: Xander Cage
Johnson: His “Faster” character
Statham: The Transporter, and pretty much every other character he has ever played

Diesel should be his Pitch Black character for the next movie when they go further into space. :o

And then Statham should be his Dungeon Siege character (I haven't seen that movie tho) when they travel through time.

lol

Well, let's be honest. Most of the actors in this franchise play one character well but in all movies. Not much variety in the acting department.

This was so bad. I think the previous three were pretty bad but at least they were dumb and fun. This one jumped the shark so spectacularly and in so many ways... I think I'm done with this franchise.

You know what se I realized? If we are to make sense of the timeline of this series. Then that means theres a huge time gap between Furious 7 and 8/9. Furious 7 is supposed to be right after Han died in Tokyo Drift in 2006 right? So F7 takes place…2006/2007? And then I guess we should assume F8 and 9 take place present day? Was Statham locked up for 10 years? :funny::funny:

Tokyo Drift didnt set in 2006
We know FF9 set 3 years after FF8.
FF8 happens shortly after FF7,
FF7 directly after TD

In FF10 or 11 they have to bring back all badass charac, Dom/Jakob/Hobbs/Roman Reign/Shaw brothers
its a duty to have all of them + the full family (Tej/Roman/Ramsey/Letty/Mia/Han..)

500M is s great haul post pandemic, but I'm sure this movie cost a fortune and they're gonna be taking a loss.

For a movie that probably cost closer to $300 million than $200 million $500 million worldwide isn't particularly great numbers. Pandemic or no pandemic.

Let's make it even crazier and have characters that don't fit right into the franchise be a part of the franchise such as......

John Cena's character from Blockers
Gal Gadot as Diana Prince
Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth
Kurt Russell as Snake Plisken
Luke Evans as Dracula

As first movie out F9 is setting the post pandemic baseline. In my county they are still limiting seating and recommending staying masked up which will suppress audiences

It doesn’t really matter what it cost at this point, 500 M is pretty great where we’re at right now. It probably still has another 200M to go before it’s done. No, it’s not a billion but that wasn’t even a guarantee before the pandemic for this franchise after the quality of the last one.

That CinemaScore suggests that this might be a turning point for the audience's interest, too. That's the lowest CinemaScore for this franchise since the very 1st one. Even 2F2F got an A-.

This is basically the equivalent of Transformers the Last Knight. The audience has had their fill.

The Cinema score basically represents whether the people’s expectations of the film were met based on the marketing? It basically means that the marketing was weaker than previous FF movies?

People aren’t choosing to see this based on the marketing. At this point if you’re going to the 9th in the franchise, your opening weekend audience is already there to love you. If they don’t, it’s not a good sign.
