Fast Five Aka The Fast and The Furious 5

So I'm guessing this one will take place between Fast and Furious and Tokyo Drift.

I'm sure I'll see it. I've seen all of these movies despite a part of me that hates myself for watching them. And then I hate myself a little bit more when I enjoy them (the first and the last one, anyway... part 2 and 3 sucked).

But where could they really go from here?

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU CARE

Not that it matters... the plot in these movies is almost non-existant. Still, I hated that in the last one, they killed Michelle Rodriguez. I know she's pretty much incapable of playing anything but the same character, but I still enjoy her performances, particularly in this series. I'm not sure why they thought that was the only route they could go with her character. It was sort of strange because it's like "The original gang is back! Now we're going to kill one of them!"

I liked all four of the F&F films, but what else can they do with five that we haven't already seen? Get The Stath in there as the hard ass cop trying to catch them, otherwise I'll just wait for the rental.
I'd pay extra to see Statham join Diesel and Walker in an F&F movie.

Yeah, I really didn't see the point of killing her character, unless she specifically told them that she doesn't want to appear in future F&F sequels.

Yeah, maybe. But why come back for the fourth one? I mean, I doubt it was one of those situations where she had to come back by contractual obligation, since she wasn't in part 2 or 3. Unless it had some bizarre clause where she had to come back if the three other main characters also did or something. Strange.

The fifth one will probably involve illegal street racing in Europe or somewhere in the Middle East like Abu Dhabi or Dubai.

And I bet it will be 3D, since that seems to be the trend nowadays.

That would be AWESOME!!! :woot:

I say set it in like Monte Carlo or Italy or somewhere.

can you imagine 3D like in Avatar combined with a shot of the camera looking out of the car? this would be the most realistic way of giving the viewer the sense like he is in the car.

The fifth movie would be perfectly suited for IMAX. Just imagine watching those racing scenes on a big IMAX screen. It would be awesome if they shot some scenes with IMAX cameras, (that would be taking this franchise to the NEXT level) but I think thats "wishful" thinking though.

I don't think the biggest mystery is the plot. The real one is what the hell are they going to call it???

I think "Fast and the Furious: Fifth Gear" was the best suggestion thus far. Which is kinda sad, 'cause while it may seem fitting, still sounds corny as f***.

The plot should be Vin and Paul racing all across the USA to Wally World. :p

And the only reason for Michelle Rodriguez is if it were a prequel to the 4th one, but then who wants to see prequel after prequel anyway? the actors will be aging instead of showing them younger.

the only option they really have is to bring it to London.

The've done the USA, Japan, so why not London?
Have all 3, Vin, Paul and Tyrese come down to London for some raw street racing.

Visually, it would be stunning if they filmed it in London, and in 3D Imax!

I would pay serious money to watch that!

they better set it after Tokyo Drift. There's no need for another prequel set before Tokyo Drift.

Just get Vin, Paul, Tyrese and Lucas Black and we are set to go.
Even Bow Wow wasn't that bad in Tokyo Drift, which was quite surprising, as he is very irritating.

so this will take place after they bust Dom off that bus to prison right?

I love this franchise, the movies are mega enjoyable and the soundtracks are usually pretty decent too.

No matter what you call it, the title would either be corny or meh. There's really no escaping it. Especially this far into the franchise.

I like this title, I think las vegas would be a better location

Fast Five Goes To Brazil

Last month Universal Pictures announced that a fifth film in the Fast and the Furious franchise would be going into production titled Fast Five. The studio had inked deals with all the key players, including stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin, screenwriter Chris Morgan (Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Wanted), and producer Neal Moritz to return to the franchise. We now have some minor details about the films plot.

Vin Diesel wrote the following on his facebook page:
Had a meeting with Justin Lin today regarding the Fast saga… some daring but fascinating thoughts in terms of action set pieces… and relationships, old and new. The team is on their way to Brazil this evening, to scout, and to see what selection of cars there are. P.s. Will be talking to DT next week, maybe he can let me show some concept art of Riddick… Peace.
The first film took place in Southern California, the second film 2 Fast 2 Furious was set in Florida, the third film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift took place in Tokyo, the fourth film, Fast & Furious, came back to So Cal, and the fifth film will apparently be set in Brazil. According to the previous trade report, the fifth film will follow Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) as “fugitives being pursued by legendary lawmen.”

Sometime before the franchise ends, I wanna see them take it to Europe.
