When you were in school, or if you are, what was (is) the best field trip you had?

Even though I had A LOT of awesome field trips my favorite is one that could have been horrible. Maybe it was different for me, but for whatever reason my middle school didn't have a graduation. Which is weird. Elementary, High, and College had graduations. But middle was like, "hey, thank you for coming." So, in order to make it up to us there was the 8th Grade Picnic. Basically they took us to the park and we had a picnic. I know. It sounds SUPER lame. Especially considering that I had field trips where I went to Disney World! Yet we ended up having a blast.

Which, I guess, is a great lesson. It doesn't matter where you go as long as you make the best of it. Good lessons for kids in this economy where perhaps schools may not have as big of a budget for elaborate field trips.

Kindergarten... the Zoo in Greenville, South Carolina.

I don't recall. But if it did, I hope it was at that fool Jeremy...the jerk. :cmad:

8th Grade NY to Washington D.C. My Senior Class did not get any trips due to the Senior Class the previous year getting into trouble on the Senior Class trip :o

Now that I think about it, they were nice gestures but they all pretty much sucked donkey balls.

Who's idea was it to impede on everyone's life with what they thought would be 'fun?' Fun at the time? Sure. Damaging for the future? HELL YES!

My trip to NYC in 2006, of course. I saw the best show on Broadway. It inspired me.

High school band trip to Cedar Point. Ask me why.

You're in Miami so you have to have taken the obligatory field trip to Fairchild Tropical Gardens and The Barnacle.

I never did. :csad:

I've been on dozens of field trips, but I can't really think of one after the 4th or 5th grade that was any good. I went to zoos, farms, and museums in elementary school. That was soon replaced by trips to supermarkets, plays, and to the theater to see educational films. :down

The funnest trips didn't go down until my junior year in HS. Went to a local mall for the entire day, which itself doesn't sound so fun-filled, but I had a good time with my group of friends. Followed that up with a trip to MGM Studios a few months later & rode a lot of the attractions for the first time - and many times since the place was a ghost town.

Yeah, I did that twice, and both were Sunset Place. One time it was to see an IMAX movie when they had an IMAX theater there.

Why?

No. My 8th grade picnic was at AD Barnes. Don't forget that my 8th grade was the 95-96 school year. Things were different back then.

I can't remember where it was.

I was about 8 or 9 and we were somewhere green... I remember that the fat kid had scoffed his dinner before we even got there and then cried all day because he was hungry. Later, we were walking down this road and the fat kid started drinking brown water from a pipe sticking out of a wall. About 30 minutes later he had the squirts and was crying and squirting behind a bush. It was funny. The poor, greedy bastard.

5th Grade field trip to a Hospital, we split into 2 groups and my group got lost for an hour, then we went to a park for a picnic and me and my friends went to a near lake and saw a couple having sex in their tent. best moment ever lol

It's a toss up for me. In both 4th and 5th grade we took a trip down to D.C.. It was really cool, because my dad we my chaperone both times. The other trtip that was great was in 10th or 11th grade when my science teacher took us to The Franklin Institute.

My 8th grade week trip to Washington DC...my first taste of freedom. Probably the greatest friends I've ever had, yet I don't even know what happened to them. haha

I still have fond memories of my trip to the Everglades in 5th grade. Fascinating place.

6th Grade trip to Medievel Times and 4th Grade trip to Liberty Science Center. Yeah I was a geek from a young age :hehe:

8th grade science trip to (then) Paramount Great America. Road so many roller coasters (including the amazing Top Gun) that day, hangin' out with my best friends. Great day. The much hyped Stealth had just opened though I didn't ride it. Anyone who waited in that long ass line didn't ride anything else the rest of the trip.

I was supposed to go to Medievel Times in high school, but that fell through because of a class cheating scandal. :csad:

I hope everyone beat up the cheater that ruined the trip for everyone. I love that place. I went again a few years ago with a summer camp I worked at . I was more excited then the kids. I came back with no voice. It was amazing.
