Can we please end this ridiculous “good guy with a gun” myth now?
There was literally one high profile story about it last year and ever since then they have been riding that wave like it will never end.

And that is in the face of dozens of other stories where it made no difference.

Because everyone wants drunk people in dimly lit buildings to have guns.

Anyone advocating for this would need to have a few screws loose.

The sheriff was also killed sadly.

And apparently there were survivors of the Las Vegas shooting that were also at this shooting. Only in America.

I'm sorry I even looked at the news. :(

It's not only in America, just frequently.

They had an armed guard at the door.... he was the first one shot...

A sheriff sergeant and a CHP also ran in and the Sargent was killed. And both were armed. Didn’t Trump said he would have ran into the building with the gunman inside? I’d like to see him try.

Btw we have finally arrived at a time when the White House would use a doctored video created by an Alt Right network to justify a lie.

But they do exist! For real, I half expect this is what people who run that narrative think will happen in real life.

Notice how there hasn’t been one tweet about the caravan invasion since the election?

That's exactly what they picture. People who watch too many action movies and think they'd be a real-life John McClane.

Even Trump himself was gushing exaggeratedly over Air Force One until Harrison Ford in an interview kind of rolled his eyes and said "it's just a movie, Donald".

It's like what Hans Gruber says about "just another American cowboy who watched too many John Wayne movies".

Yeah, banks should stop hiring armed security guards too.

Bodyguards for VIPs, pointless.

Air marshals.

Because people at a bar are all worthy targets of bank robbers, are always rich and famous and never fly on airplanes.

This is one of the most disingenuous comparisons I have ever seen trying to dismiss gun regulation.

First the shooting, now RBG broke some ribs. Today is not off to a good start :(

I’d be surprised if that fat f**k can even run...

No one is saying that. We're only saying that having a good guy with a gun there doesn't ensure security. In many cases, it can make things worse.

More Centrist stuff right there. Not leaning one way or the other. Nobody sees through this guy right?

That’s false equivalency. The things you mentioned are places or people generally agreed as places needing armed security. But should a church or movie theater, which probably doesn’t even have the budget for it, be expected to?

Nothing screams right down the middle like a false equivalency. You know that a bank should need the exact same amount of protection as a bar don't you? That's just common sense

We have an FBI agent who attends our church. Since he works for the FBI and not for our congregation, should he be allowed to carry a weapon inside the church?

Is his proficiency with and responsible use of firearms enough (along with a government badge, of course), or does he suddenly change into a terrible danger once he sets foot on church property?

I think... yeah, it's possible.

The rest of the US needs to be more like 'Bama! YEEHAAAAAA!
Alabama 2nd on list of states with most gun violence

Now, that's up to the church, isn't it? Freedom of religion and so forth.

I don't have much of an opinion about this, but I'd say that's up to the church.
