Trump sides with Putin against his own intelligence community, brags about "falling in love" with Kim Jong Un, and has fawned over Duterte and Bolsonaro, so why would anyone expect him to let a little torture/murder sour relations with Bin Salman? Trump's choice of allies makes it abundantly obvious he has no care about human rights, or qualms about cozying up to dictators who blatantly have people assassinated.

Though in fairness to Trump, our cozy relationship with Saudi Arabia goes back to WWII, and has always been a glaring black spot on our claims of supporting freedom, when they've been a major human rights violator and sponsor of terrorism for decades.

So true. The big difference between then and now though is that, after biofuels, America doesn't need Saudia Arabia's oil imports like we used to. Yes, they are still a big buyer of American weapons... but the economic value of their friendship is not what it once was. We should really reevaluate it in my opinion.

Pakistan too.... No more fake friends.

Reminder: Pompeo doesn't care if the world ends because he thinks the Rapture is real.

While true, the insane thing here is his is all somehow for his own personal gain. He has so many business deals with the Saudis and the Russians. He is somehow doing this all in broad daylight.

I honestly don’t care about Ivanka. Yes it’s hypocritical but let’s be honest, she’s not the one making policy or even influencing it. Going after her might make Cheetoh upset, which is great, but won’t get you much else.

I say go after Stephen Miller.

I don't care about it, because while using personal e-mail is dumb, I don't think it makes her a bad person. The idea that poor e-mail use was a dealbreaker was always blown out of proportion. The only reason why this is an issue at all is because it's ironic that it's her. And the Trumps have earned that. They deserve to be mocked, and ridiculed, and investigated on this issue.

The reason it's an issue is because Ivanka is untouchable. She never suffers any sort of consequence for the **** she's pulled. The emails are just another highlight of the protective case that she's in. It's disgusting.

My problem is the nepotism. So many people in Trump's orbit in high positions are family, friends, or friends of friends. He's slowly stacked the white house into being a group of yes men who could care less for the country, let alone positions they serve.

"Friend of Guliani? Sure, serve as the judge overseeing the district of NY that is conducting a state level investigation into me! My son in law is in charge of middle east peace! My wife's friend gets to pretend to run my inauguration, and get funneled millions doing so!"

To me, the Hillary email thing was always more about Republicans tearing down Hillary rather than doing it for positive reasons. Same with Benghazi.

So Ivanka getting in trouble on this, for me, is more for setting the example, and getting the ball rolling. Sending the message that WH staff can't commit illegal acts with impunity just because daddy runs the country. Setting the starting line for the beginning of looking into this family who have had far too much insight on sensitive US dealings. To uncover more, as I highly doubt this is the only wrongful act a Trump family member has committed in the WH. To finally hold these crooks accountable.

Somewhere we have to draw the line, that's for sure. This seems like as good of a place as any.

I am worried about how many people are going to die now. Especially with Trump all to willing to send someone to their deaths to get Turkey to shut up about this. And with a Russian about to become head of Interpol, without the US's leadership, things look extremely grim for those who have fled dictators.

As a side note, watched American History X tonight. I would hope that the "moderates" on this board that claim we were hyperbolic about the comparisons we make about the racism within this administration. It was amazingly terrifying.

Jesus Christ. Like the Clintons don't practice this behavior.

You wouldn't say boo about it if she'd won. Politicians are self-serving skeezes, shock horror.

Considering I've said several times I didn't vote for Hillary as I didn't think she'd be a good president either, you'd be very wrong. Though I've grown to regret that.

A wrong is wrong regardless of who did it. I have no interest in calling out Trump cultists for party over country behavior, then doing the same myself. I said Moore should drop out for his sexual assault claims, and then agreed Franken should too.

Either way, no. I wouldn't agree with blatant nepotism, law breaking, and corruption regardless which side of the aisle did it. If bringing up corruption automatically turns into a party based debate, that's on you, not me. I never implied I wouldn't think the same if the Clinton's did it.
