Oh ****, Cohen just non-named dropped Trump.

Crazy day.

Michael Cohen has plead guilty to 8 counts, including conspiring with Trump to cover up payments to women.

Hot damn this went from 0-100 real quick.

Things are about to hit the fan, quick. I did not expect that from Cohen's guilty plea. Even ignoring the Trump name drop, he also was in charge of the RNC campaign funds for quite some time. So, things are about to get interesting quickly.

This only really matters if ultimately somehow the GOP grows a spine and chooses to hold Trump's dumb ass accountable, which I've long since given up on happening.

Only way it will is if the Dems win big in November.

Cant wait to see what Trump says at his rally tonight.

@Reuters
BREAKING: Judge sets Dec. 12 sentencing for Cohen, sets bail at $500,000

I'm not a dunce when it comes to broad strokes in law but the intricacies evade me since I'm not familiar with US law; but surely that admission that he was coordinating with Trump (which in turn implies Trump's previous lies about not knowing, etc) are going to lead to repercussions for Trump shortly?

This has to at least be putting the key into the ignition of the impeachmobile.

This tweet sure aged well.

It depends. Trump can'd be indicted as a sitting President. Mueller has already confirmed as much. Impeachment is the play here for "high crimes and misdemeanors" but that still needs to be shown to Congress. Even if you can pretty convincingly show that however, you still need a Congress that will hold the President accountable and impeach him. Our Congress is currently a majority GOP Congress and they've shown no inclination to do anything but let Trump run wild so long as they achieve their end game.

Also, fun times, turns out Trump has a WV rally tonight.

So we aren't going to get tweets, we are going to get reactions LIVE.

Cool cool, thanks.

So effectively the world at large is pinning their hopes to a serious blue wave putting dems in congress by the end of 2018 and some momentum of public and political will to see Trump impeached?

Surely there is a limit to what even a GOP congress could ostensibly defend without losing all credibility themselves, though? I would hazard that Manafort and Cohen's fates has to be making some of them think "Okay…we can't defend Trump much longer"?

Specially if anything comes up before the Mid terms

Specially if anything comes up before the Mid terms

Do you mean something else confirmed by Cohen/Manafort's situations or something completely new?

I mean it's kind of crazy how much an actual verdict does to change the perception about these things, we've known about the rough implications for so long but to hear it confirmed in a court of law changes the ball game completely.

i mean if Mueller brings anything against Trump before the mid terms... if he submits something to congress. then the GOP is screwed. they hold off on indicting Trump, then the Dems & anti-trump Republicans will vote against them.... if they act on it, then the Cult of Trump will angrily & loudly not vote for them. a lot of GOP people will lose their jobs

This is what I'm hoping for, seeing as how Congress may choose not to impeach Trump over this.

One can only hope. :D

Ah, okay, I follow. I mean anything that pressures them to start acting like human beings whose loyalty to ethical policy-making means something sounds great to me, so lighting a fire under their asses would be good.

I mean if there's anything that can jumpstart some serious voter mobilization for the midterms - this is it.

Trump is probably going to have a bit of a meltdown at this rally.

the Rally is going to be insane...

It depends. Now that most primaries are out of the way, if things start going badly (ie Trump starts acting like Trump), the GOP may act to save themselves. They are already acting as if they may lose the Senate.
