Imagine its very off-putting to older people who served and older people in general. My grandma and granda have said that to me as long as I can remember that you don't speak ill of the dead. Not something I always personally agree with but seems to be a really serious thing for them not sure but assume its similar in the US.

It's funny. Trump complains about Facebook, and Twitter censoring him. But he outright bullies, insults, and slanders people all the time via Twitter. I've seen people get in trouble, or banned for less. If anything, Trump's getting preferential treatment.
